The 2019 Volunteer Recognition program did not take place in the spring as usual due to the COVID-19 pandemic, however Council recognizes the strength and resilience that makes South Frontenac a desirable community is largely due to our volunteers. Council received 38 nominations for Volunteer Recognition! Each nominee will receive a mailed appreciation package and their names have been featured on our website and in the Frontenac News on Dec 3rd. Once again- thank you to our community volunteers!

Building By-law 2014-26 to include fees for On-Site Sewage Systems under the Ontario Building Code Act The Council of the Corporation of the Township of South Frontenac will hold a public meeting under the provisions of the Building Code Act to consider an update to the Township of South Frontenac Building By-law pursuant to section 7(6) of the Building Code Act, S.O. 1992, and Division C, 1.9.1.2.(1) of the Building Code, 2012 DATE OF MEETING: Tuesday November 10, 2020 at 5...:00pm LOCATION: This will be a virtual public meeting. Details about how to view and participate in the meeting will be posted on the Township’s website at www.southfrontenac.net prior to the meeting. PURPOSE AND EFFECT OF THE ADDITION OF NEW PERMIT FEES The effect of the proposed amendments are to add new fees into the Building By-law to cover the cost of the South Frontenac Building Department delivering Part 8, On-Site Sewage System services under the Building Code Act. The new fees added reflect the true costs of delivering the services of processing on-site sewage system permit applications, Part 8 septic review for planning applications, and conducting on-site inspections for Building Permits. REPRESENTATION & APPEALS Any person may register and participate in the virtual public meeting and make written and/or verbal representation either in support of or in opposition to the proposed Amendments. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION The estimated cost of administering and enforcing the Act for 2021 in regards to On-Site Sewage Systems under Part 8 of the Ontario Building Code is $117,500.
