Our friends at Kitsilano Neighbourhood House are looking for community members living with Dementia to join their Community Programming Team in forming a Dementia Friendly Community Advisory Committee. In working to make Kitsilano a dementia friendly community it is essential that we consult with people living with dementia to learn how we can best support our community members who are experiencing mild to severe cognitive decline. The committee will meet two to three times per year, likely through Zoom. We ask that you reach out to your neighbours, your friends, or your family members living with Dementia to consider joining our committee.

We are introducing Zumba to the SGSC. Zumba is a type of dance fitness that incorporates dance moves to Latin music! It is a great way to build and tone muscle, improve cardio, promote flexibility, and decrease stress. We will be providing chairs for rest, and we encourage all participants to go at their own pace. Please wear comfortable shoes and athletic clothing. Be sure to bring a water bottle!
Join us for Tai Chi in the park with Wayne! Wayne recommends practicing with a flat soled shoe (nothing with a heel), loose fitting, light coloured clothing and a hat for outdoor sessions. Participants should bring a water bottle. We hope to see you there!
