It’s STILL mental health awareness month. For those of us with mental illness it really should be mental health awareness day everyday. Truth be told, some peop...le with mental illness have a lot to learn about mental illness. Some of us think the less we know the better (this was once me) - it’s a form of denial and we’re afraid of what we might learn. We’re afraid that if we read and talk about it, our illness, we’ll say, that’s me. However, many of us with little knowledge do still feel quite able to challenge our healthcare guidance. But, we have to earn that right by learning about our condition. Uninformed decision-making rarely leads to recovery. Learning more about our condition makes us better patients, makes our psychiatrists better doctors, gives you the best care and outcomes you deserve. Knowledge is empowering that’s what happened to me. Share knowledge on ForLikeMinds.com See more

I’m going to keep posting things like this for the duration. If you are getting a lot of work done, great. If you aren’t, it’s very very normal, and please be kind and gentle with yourself.

Your mental health will not, cannot stop for coronavirus. A lot of people may seem to be feeling the same way you do, but it’s ok if you feel these thoughts mor...e deeply and intensely, because if you have mental illness you may. You have to address it now, because if you don’t things could get worse and worse and be harder and harder to address. We need good mental health care and support now - ask for help, reach out for help. Many of us are struggling even more with isolation and loneliness now. The good news about support is that coronavirus has made more people empathetic, they can relate a bit more - they are starting to understand what "a day in the life" of people with mental illness in kind of sort of like - you may be even able to share some good coping strategies with them. Good support will help us get through this safely and healthy. If you’re struggling, reach out for help. Reach out even to someone who may be struggling too two people struggling together can offer each other a lot of invaluable support. Please let us try to help you get the need you need by taking our survey: https://bit.ly/2z5hNRu, ty <3 See more
