Dr. Sudicky with a great recap on the benefits to resistance training! A recent meta analysis by Grgic et al. (2020) found the benefits of resistance training to far out weigh the risks. Not only that, the time commitment is very minimal to reap these benefits. Something is always better than nothing...And it’s never too late to start! To get results you have never had, requires doing something you have never done. Many times I’ve had folks ask How can I increase my lift by X? or how can I lose X amount of weight? I usually answer well, what is you are currently doing? And it usually requires people to take a hard look at themselves and the goals they have.. and while it’s a tough reality to face but sometimes it is simply that you are not challenging themselves hard enough. For example, strength traini...ng requires an overload stimulus, that means to get stronger over time you have to produce an overload by increasing training volume by either lifting more weight, more sets, more repetitions or a combination of them. It happens far too often I’ve had folks train the exact same training regimen for far too long and ask why they haven’t gotten any results. Now I’m not saying each and every workout needs to be increased from one to another. Not at all. But over the long term, you need to keep producing your body a higher stimulus to keep creating adaptations. Don’t be upset from the results you didn’t get, from the work you didn’t do. Now get after it!

Today is our 3rd year anniversary for SKB! I can’t believe that already, wow time flies. We are so grateful for everyone that has helped make this possible! A special thanks to everyone that helped me with moving equipment, painting, dry wall, moving these heavy mats in place, helping with maintenance fixing equipment, etc! Couldn’t have done it without all of you!! To our loyal members, everyone that has came in and stopped by for a lift, grabbed some apparel, or eve...n asked how the gym was doing. We are so thankful for all of you. We have came a long way over the past 3 years! So excited to continue to grow and get better to be a location for the community to improve their lives through fitness! #brickbybrick Swipe to see some of the changes over the years and stay tuned for next week as we will be doing some giveaways to celebrate!
