At Home Resources: Remembrance Day Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, the Royal Canadian Legion Newfoundland and Labrador Remembrance Day parade is unable to take place this year. We want to provide an alternate and safe way for people to pay their respects, while also maintaining safe distancing and respecting health guidelines, said Mayor Danny Breen. ... At 11 a.m. on November 11, we ask that you step outside the front door of your home and observe two minutes of silence for our veterans, our fallen soldiers and those who continue to serve. The Mayor has also asked families to decorate their windows with poppies and messages in remembrance. Our Recreation team have put together an "At Home Resource" to assist; find it at: http://stjohns.ca/livin/recreation-and-parks/home-resources The City and the Legion are encouraging residents to share the Remembrance Day at Home event with friends and family, and on social media.
