When a wisdom tooth is impacted, it most likely will need to be removed. If it is not removed you may develop gum tenderness, swelling or severe pain. If we recommend removal of your wisdom teeth, it is best to have them removed sooner rather than later. The earlier you have them removed, the more likely the roots will have not fully formed and the surrounding bone be less dense, which can make extraction easier, with a shorter recovery time. Please give us a call to discuss or to book your appointment. While parents are at home with kids snack time can get a little monotonous. Although pre-packaged snacks are quick they are typically loaded with sugar and preservatives. Some of the best foods for snacking and for healthy teeth are fresh fruits and veggies because of their high nutritional value and added teeth cleaning benefits. Cheese is one of the best foods for healthy teeth for a number of reasons. First, it is low in sugar and high in calcium. You can also cut it up into fun child size pieces. #SouthLondonDentalCareCentre #LondonDentist #LondonDentalPractice #EssentialService #LondonDental #HealthandSafety #OralHealth #DentistryInLondon #HealthySnacks

If you are one of the millions of people who suffer from missing teeth, you are probably very aware the affect that a missing tooth can have on the appearance and function of your smile. But what you may not realize is the space left by a missing tooth can allow other teeth to drift out of their normal positions causing gaps between your other teeth. This situation can eventually lead to the loss of even more teeth. How to best replace missing teeth is an important decision.... At South London Dental Care Centre we are committed to helping our patients select the option that will provide the best result for their unique situation. Please feel free to call our office if you have any questions about replacing missing teeth and we would be happy to have a consultation with you. #SouthLondonDentalCareCentre #MissingTeeth #LondonOntario #LondonDentist See more

Your child’s baby teeth will begin to erupt between the ages of four months to about 3-years-of-age, equalling 20 teeth in total and will start falling out around six-years-old. To help alleviate any teething discomfort, you can try to soothe the gums by rubbing a clean finger or a cool, wet cloth across them. #BabyTeeth #SouthLondonDentalCareCentre #LondonDentist

London Food Bank is appreciative to our community for the generous donations they receive. It is between the holidays that they still need support. If you can donate please do. While many non-perishable food items are packed with sodium and preservatives, there are many options that are healthier choices to purchase. A few good options include: - Soup - Oats - Canned vegetables - Brown rice

This past weekend we all got an extra hour of sleep! For some people sleep brings about various issues. Some people grind their teeth when they sleep. When you grind your teeth, you can cause them to wear prematurely, and you can damage the enamel. If you find yourself waking up with jaw pain, earaches or headaches you may have this common condition called bruxism. The good news is we can help. Contact our team and make an appointment to discuss whether a night guard may be a good choice for you.

Dr. Rumble's son in Cub Scouts. In their pack, they learned about Remembrance Day. They made poppies to acknowledge the courage and sacrifice of those who served Canada and to acknowledge our responsibility to work for the peace they fought hard to achieve. He also learned that his Great Grandfather, Dr. Rumble's Grandfather, fought for our freedom in WW2. Pictured side by side we thought this was a moving photo for today.
