We have achieved our COR certification. We found out it takes a team effort. It is exciting to be able to be recognized on larger scale projects with Manitoba Infrastructure and Transportation. At SME we do nothing but the best when it comes to road maintenance. You can blade roads many different ways. But to have a road that is comfortable to travel on, and safe to travel on, takes a skill that is hard to find. It takes an operator that is very engaged in their work and proud of their work too. We are lucky to have a few of those. When you are a motor grader operator you are always learning every day, never done learning. There are so many things that can effect th...e way your road turns out after blading it. Dry weather, wet weather, too much sod growth, lack of money in the budget. The operator is always working with the situation at hand, often wishing the circumstance would be different but this is what we have to work with today so we will do the best we can. And for some reason according to the gossip shop That operator that passed away, is always the best one that we have ever seen. So if you see a good motor grader operator tell them they are good while they are alive not when they are pushing tulips. Work is moving along on the #20 detour east of Dauphin. The road has lots of traffic. We hope everyone can just have patience with us as we try our best to get your road fixed up going out to the Lake Dauphin area and your cabins. Also a big thanks to our very excellent group of flag persons we have working onsite. They are doing an excellent job of guiding traffic through the site. We couldnt be more blessed.
