I am super honoured to have won this national award from the Canadian RV and Campground Council. The Rising Star Award was selected based on the two-year performance since taking over the property in 2019 and the steps taken to implement a greater year-round business plan. Exploring your own backyard ain't so bad when you live in the mountains. We got out yesterday with some great friends. A 45 minute drive from #southpointcanim we parked. Rode 92 km round trip exploring new areas and made it to some awesome view points. One of the best views we've seen. Great day, made even better by a campfire lunch on the trail. To our amazing guests, With the uncertainty of the virus in the coming months, we have made the personal decision to close this winter season. It was not a decision we made lightly. In our second year of operation we had hoped to build the winter market, but recognize this is simply not the time. When you come to South Point Resort it's a very family-friendly atmosphere where people gather, chat and share in the experience. This is not the environment we want to create this w...inter. We have already seen cancellations due to the travel restrictions and we’ve been hesitant to promote the upcoming holiday season with the daily cases of the virus on the rise. We will be contacting all of our guests who have already booked and will be offering refunds. Canim Lake is a small community and we will be doing out part to keep Covid-19 out of it. Although we are super upset we can’t host you - or gather around a bonfire with you this winter, we are hopeful for a great 2021 spring and summer season at South Point Resort and are taking bookings now! If all goes well, we hope to resume the winter season in the coming years as the area has lots to offer. As for us, we will be taking this time to enjoy our own backyard and focusing on more upgrades around the resort this winter. You'll see all the updates if you follow us on social :) Bear has his "to-do" list - and don't you worry, I'll be checking it twice. Thanks for your understanding.
