In honour of International Women’s Day, we wanted to say a big THANK YOU to all of the women who have supported us in this journey! In the six short months since the launch of the debut issue of Southpoint Living, we have met the most incredible women who are doing amazing things right here in our community. We never could’ve imagined that launching this magazine would also be responsible for the start of many friendships and partnerships with women we didn’t know before w...e started the magazine. One of the greatest things about our launch party in September was watching so many women getting to know each other. They walked in having never met before and walked out as if they were old friends. It was truly electric. We are lucky to have so many ambitious, talented, hard working women in our community and today we want to say thank you to all of the women who support us and thank you to all of the women who inspire us! Confession time - we suck at social media. Like really, really suck. When we began launching Southpoint Living, we had so many grand plans for social media. But here we are today having barely done anything, as evidenced by the fact that our last post is from Halloween . That being said, one of our new year’s resolutions is to do a heck of a lot more on social media. And we also must say that the main reason we haven’t been very active on social media is because we’ve be...en so busy at work with a bunch of amazing projects. So thank you to all of our clients who have been keeping us busy! We look forward to so many more incredible projects that are already in the works for 2020 . WOW! We are overwhelmed by the response we’ve gotten on the release of the debut issue of Southpoint Living. For those of you who don’t know us, we’re Melissa Hopper and Mallory Wright, two of the faces behind Southpoint Living. Melissa is the editor and Mallory handles advertising sales. We work at Southpoint Publishing in Leamington, home of the Southpoint Sun newspaper and the Southpoint Visitor Guide. In addition to our work on Southpoint Living, Melissa also oversees ...our other specialty publications as well as office administration and Mallory handles the commercial printing side of our business. We’re both from the area - Melissa from Leamington and Mallory from Wheatley - and we both have two young kids who keep us busy. We are both lucky to have extremely supportive husbands who did extra parenting duty these last few months while we got Southpoint Living off the ground. We began discussing the idea of Southpoint Living in May and in June we decided to go for it, even though we knew it wouldn’t leave us much time since we wanted our first issue to be Fall/Winter 2019. (Truth be told, we were very excited but we knew we had to act fast before we talked ourselves out of taking this big leap.) As of right now, our plan is to do two issues each year: Fall/Winter and Spring/Summer. We’ve been overwhelmed by the response we’ve received and we haven’t ruled out publishing Southpoint Living more frequently in the future. But for now the plan is twice per year. We’re already in the planning stages for Spring/Summer 2020 and we have some exciting things planned for between now and then. Our goal is for Southpoint Living to become more than just a magazinebut we’ll go into more detail about that another time :) We just wanted to introduce ourselves and say a big THANK YOU to everyone who supported us in this debut issue of Southpoint Living, especially our advertisers and contributors. Without you, this would not have been possible.
