TRANSFORMATION TUESDAY We have too many great success stories to just share one this week. After completing a 6 week health and wellness challenge with Sou’Wester these ladies all had some incredible results on their final scans.... The great thing about our Inbody machine is the technology and insight it provides. The scale at home may have made someone who gained muscle mass upset bc they would have seen the number on the scale go higher. But our technology shows people what’s happening on the inside of their body. All of these ladies lost body fat and some even increased their metabolism (they increased muscle mass) this is huge! Our nutrition is focused on guiding members on eating real food. Eating enough to support our activities and goals. Staying away from processed foods and learning how to stay on a nutrition path that’s sustainable for everyday real life. We don’t preach perfection but providing the educational foundation that gives you the confidence to continue a healthy eating lifestyle. The other benefits these ladies found? Better sleep. More energy. Improved performance at the gym. That you don’t need to be perfect - but consistency is key. . . . If you are stuck, or ready for a change, a kick start, a new chapter, a chance to keep those Christmas pounds away. Let’s get started before the holidays! No need to wait to 2021- take action now and start feeling great from the inside out! We can help- message us to find out how today. #nutrition #accountability #support #transformationtuesday #successstories #souwesterathletics

Not only are the before and after numbers incredible but Rick has come away with a better understanding of how to properly fuel his body.... His performance at the gym is proof that it’s working. In 6 weeks Rick Body Fat by 9.3lbs! Since his first inbody scan in 2019 Rick has continued to improve his overall health. An avid running he began at Sou’Wester doing CrossFit and since has changed dramatically. In 21months of tracking Ricks body composition he has 20 lbs Gone from 20% body fat to 8.5%! His muscle mass The more Rick dives into his nutrition the more he has realized. Its not that hard you have to be willing to make a change. To have a hard look at what you are putting in but he loves tracking. He loves seeing the changes, seeing how much REAL food he could eat vs what small amount of processed foods he could have. This guy is the real deal. He is hitting his stride and it’s been awesome to watch his journey! Congrats Rick on some incredible results! MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY As the holidays approach it’s always a great reminder that there is so much more to the season. Giving back doesn’t need to mean spending money or giving gifts. It could mean cooking a hot meal for a neighbour who lives alone or has lost a loved one. ... Spending some time with a friend helping them wrap Christmas presents. Sending out a Christmas card or picking up the phone to call an old friend. Picking up a name off a giving tree in your local area and help light up a child’s Christmas morning. Helping and elderly person or someone unable to put up their Christmas lights so they can see their yard lite up at night. Donating to the local food bank. Saying Thank you and being kind to those retail workers! The holidays are a magical time for many but also can be a stressful time or sad time for others. Giving back in all sorts of ways will help to make your heart feel full, hopefully light them up too and ensure we spread love and kindness during the season. Give back. Spread kindness. #bekind #givingbackfeelsgood #happyvibes #motivationalmonday

NUTRITION TIP THURSDAY Do you have the holiday-free pass mentality? Which one are you?! ... A) You treat December like it’s a reason to eat, drink and be merry for a month. A new year is coming so that’s when you’ll change and start fresh. B) Nothing much changes. You enjoy a few gatherings or events but you don’t let your consistency from the 11 months before sway you. All too often people struggle to find balance in December or over the holidays. Did you know on average most people gain 1-2 lbs between Christmas and New Years? Doesn’t sound like much really right? Not until you consider that most people who gain (some will gain more) but most will NOT lose that weight gain. Ever Wonder why over the course of 5-10-15 years someone looks like they have gained a lot of weight. All it takes is that couple pounds each Christmas to add up. But what about the rest of the year? What about the 1-2lbs gains during those oh it’s summer months? How often do you say oh I’ll start eating better after _____, I’ll begin my new routine of working out after _____. Every time we allow ourselves to offload our reason of why we are waiting to take action or change is just our own way to not take responsibility. TAKE RESPONSIBILITY December is just another month. We don’t NEED to use it as an excuse to eat sweets everyday and over indulge every weekend. We surely can enjoy the season without becoming the statistic of that 1-2lb gain. Balance is key. This is where what we preach with our nutrition clients comes in. Be consistent year round so when the holidays come around we have a solid foundation to know how we can manage to still enjoy the holidays without going overboard. One thing that December should NOT be..... is a write off. Don’t allow yourself to have the mentality that your going to have this or that event, or need to eat your grandmothers cookies or it’s not Christmas unless I have ____ from my childhood. Yes you can still enjoy things but it doesn’t mean all needs to go out the window and most certainly not the I’m going to start fresh in January. Just start now. Be aware. Be conscious. Enjoy the season without letting all your hard work go out the window. If 2020 has taught us anything it’s that health matters. Family time matters. Love & Kindness matter. Let’s ensure we finish off 2020 with the expectation that we can still enjoy family, friends, health and life without overindulging. There is a way to balance the season without writing it off until 2021. If your wondering how to get started with your health or fitness journey message us today! We would love to chat and discuss how we can help!
