Another happy guest...We will definitely be making Holly and Peter's air BnB a regular visit. They were kind enough to cut us wood for a fire and our unit was fully stocked with all those tidbit items we often forget at home. It was so quiet, clean, bright and homey. Peter and Holly and little Harley were so personable and we truly enjoyed our conversations and time with them. Absolutely beautiful home and land. Discovery Harbour in beautiful Penetanguishene is getting ready to start SKATE TRAIL Friday Jan 31st until Sunday March 1st*. Friday nights 6 pm 9 pm Saturda...y 12 noon 9 pm Sundays 12 noon 4 pm *WEATHER PERMITTING Admission is $8.00 per person. Children 5 and under are FREE. You will be required to sign a waiver before heading out to experience the frosty fun. WHAT TO EXPECT: - 1km loop that circles around our historic site. Skates are free to borrow but limited sizes. - A free wagon shuttle on the historic grounds that will pick visitors up to take them down to our Garrison Hall and Skate Blade Café warming centre where you can purchase hot chocolate, snacks and refreshments. - A snowshoe trail will run throughout the historic site. Bring you own snowshoes or borrow a set of ours. - Ice & Fire nights: Fireworks every Friday at 7:30 pm. - Skates, helmets and snowshoes are free of charge. - Out-of-doors, there will be a Crokicurl rink for visitors to try their hand at this outdoor curling style game. - On the weekends, you can roast bannock on the outdoor fires. - Small kids snow tube run for the littles. WINTERAMA: We will be hosting the kick-off for the Town of Penetanguishenes Winterama event on Friday February 14th with a large fireworks display along with live-out-door music by local area band, ice-carvings, and movie look-alike characters will be roaming the historic site.
