As one of those in the MOST VULNERABLE category, I take my health and the health of our community very seriously. I also understand we each have different levels of comfort & varying opinions. Classes at The Alchemy Studio Revelstoke will continue with further reduced capacity & enhanced hygiene protocols. I look forward to holding space and stretching it all out with you Sundays & Wednesdays - teaching is what supports my good health and there is SO MUCH MORE to Yoga than... just the postures. Let’s continue to strengthen our immune, respiratory, neuro, skeletal, muscular, endocrine, urinary, digestive, reproductive lymphatic, cardiovascular, and integumentary systems TOGETHER. SEE BELOW . We are continuing to leave lots of room (6ft!) between mats, currently maxing classes at 11ppl in our spacious studio. Each mat is equipped with its own cleaning basket, filled with hand sanitizer, mat cleaner & a fresh cloth. When booking, we’ve added the ability for you to see the number of preregistered spots available in any given class, so you have the choice to come when the numbers suit your comfort level. are suspended for 2 weeks, all other classes are running as usual. The teacher that appears in many forms. The word guru comes from the two Sanskrit words gu+ru. Gu' means ignorance or darkness and 'ru' means the removal of darkness. Guru Purnima is celebrated on the full moon day in the Hindu month of Ashadha. The day is celebrated to commemorate the birth ceremony of Ved Vyasa, who is the author of the holy book Mahabharata, the Indian epic and most likely the largest composed, it embodies the essence of Indian cultural heritage of which the Sri Bhagavad Gita is nestled within. LEARN ABOUT THE FIGHT. The burning of St. Johns Church, the parish that supported the bold civil rights movement of the MARCH ON WASHINGTON, not okay. The defamation of the VA in Washington, not okay. The defamation of the Lincoln Memorial - the place where the momentous MARCH ON WASHINGTON began, not okay. I come from a DEEPLY US political family. My grandparents where deeply involved in the Roosevelt Campaign. My parents met working on the Kennedy Campaign. My white mothe...r wanted to join the BLACK LIVES MATTER organization years ago. I have relatives on the medical frontline, terrified. I'm blessed to have people of color in my immediate family. I grew up surrounded by gays, lesbians and many of every color. I am Jewish. 1/2 of my family is on the RIGHT while the other 1/2 is on the LEFT. Many of my friends go to bed at night listening to shots being fired and the potent rage of protests. My friends and family in the States are deeply scared. Its incredible sad. Their children are terrified by the violence and mayhem. People are angry and frustrated and we all knew this uprising was simmering and it was only a matter of time before the explosion. For those outside the States, before re-posting a popular newsfeed, article, video or column, I really encourage you to educate yourself properly. Your posts have the power to really hurt. Though it may not seem to align with what's going on right now, I invite you to learn about the exceptional success of the AIDS/HIV movement. Learn to differentiate nonviolent resistance vs senseless acts of violence and destruction. If you can, talk first hand with your American friends about their experiences. Words cannot begin to describe the range and depth of emotions I've felt. This time has had me really studying the very first and most important teaching of yoga, AHIMSA. It means so much more than non-harming of another being - at its deepest level AHIMSA teaches and guides us to move from separation to connection by seeing the Divine (Ishvara Pranidhana) or love in all beings and all things including ourselves. AHIMSA invites us to extend friendliness, compassion, and understanding to others and ourselves rather than judgement or attachment. . Many of you may not be ready to break out of your bubble or join me in the studio, yet. When you feel ready, I'll be there to guide and learn with you. Over the last few months knowingly or not, I spent practicing PRATYAHARA; turning inward. Continuing my yoga education by attending yoga philosophy classes such as Sutra, Gita, Tantra, Mantra, & Sanskrit master classes, and practicing meditation, pranayam, and asana with some of the best - I can't wait to connect body, breath, and spirit with YOU. .
