Failure is not what we aspire to when we take on a project and when it fails, it seems like a waste of time, but is it? It is part of the process to success, yet when we experience failure it can feel like the end of everything. Especially, if our failures prove other’s predictions or are pointed out by those who profess to love us to try to keep us from trying again. When we wallow in what we’ve lost, time, money, respect we cannot see what failure is giving us experience.... Failure shows us what doesn’t work or what could work if we did something differently. If any of the brilliant inventors throughout history, didn’t try every possible variation of their designs they never would have discovered what worked. We expect scientists to try different things to discover the correct answer, however, many expect themselves or their loved ones to succeed on the first try in their efforts. Those who make too many mistakes are fired, shamed, or judged as losers to be ignored or avoided instead of encouraged or supported. Until, they succeed then suddenly their worst critics proclaim they always believed they could do it. We all fail. We all make mistakes. We all need support, understanding, and encouragement. #failforward

It all depends on your perception and the perception of those around you. Do you know how others perceive you? Have you asked them to describe your personality, character, or image? You might be surprised - I was... The intent of our message or behaviours doesn't matter, let's face it, there is a road paved with good intentions leading somewhere not so great... You could walk into a room thinking you are friendly, approachable, and confident, however the people in the room th...ink you're pompous. That's what I discovered when I asked a group of people what their first impression of me was. It opened my eyes. You've got a second to make a good impression - are you making the right one or are you being blindsided by your behaviours? Take the blind spot assessment to discover how others might be perceiving you at www.likkylavji.com # #leadership #blindspots #daretolead #firstimpressions #leadershipdevelopment #personalimprovement
