Last Monday SPEAK STRATFORD TOASTMASTERS took advantage of the remote meeting format (Zoom), we are presently using to co-run a toastmasters meeting with SAUGEEN TOASTMASTERS, located in Hanover. By combining clubs for a couple of hours we combined our level of learning AND enjoyment! We’re excited to further explore other combined meetings while we remain on Zoom as our format of connection. We had our last meeting for 2020 on Monday. We've gone virtual again while case numbers are on the rise in the province. This doesn't deter us from having a great, productive time at our meetings If you have ever thought about improving your leadership skills or you level of comfort at speaking in public NOW is the time to do something about it! Congratulations to our three members who participated in our annual club speaking contest! All of them delivered compelling speeches, about the value of failure... (inspiring), about how to embrace change (topical), and what one witnesses in the wee hours of the morning when you are plowing snow (a great human interest topic). From this competition the top two go on to the area contest, then the division contest, and so on and so on. Toastmasters is a great way to pull yourself out of your comfort zone (when you are ready), and develop new and exciting skills! See more
