Spearpoint Singers was founded by the parents, Joe & Eunice Pahtaykan and their son's, Nathan and Clint (Boss) Pahtaykan in 1999. In 2000 Spear Point hit the Pow-wow trail and have been on trail since. The Spear Point singers come from a long line of pow wow singers. In 1971, Spear Point Mom, Eunice, sang with her Father, Mel Paul and the Wabamun Lake singers. In 1966 at the age of 12, Joe Pahtaykan started singing with Little Pine Singers, then later called themselves the Re...d Bull Singers. Red Bull singers are also known, all across Turtle Island and South America as Pow-wow singing Champs. In 1974 during Paul Band Indian Days(back in those the Indigenous People called them "Indian Days") Joe met his beautiful wife, Eunice, they were married in 1978 and had 5 children together. Throughout the years Spear Point have learned to compose their own songs and were also, given songs by great Pow-wow song composers. After 4 generations the singing spirit resonates profoundly through the Grandchildren & Great Grandchildren of Mel Paul and Joe & Eunice Pahtaykan. Joe Pahtaykan is also known by his very dear peers as Smokin' Joe. Our singers circle are blood brothers, sisters, nephews and Smokin Joe. Family. Spear Points 1st Pow-wow cd surfaced in 2005, followed by their 2nd Pow-wow cd released in 2010 "When Young Meets Old". In 2015 Spear Point 1st Round Dance Cd is in post-production and are currenty working on their 3rd Pow-wow Album. The Spear Point Singers are mixed blood, Plains Cree & Nakota Stoney that compose original songs.
