Tips on how to stay healthy while walking and practicing physical/social distancing!

Special Olympics Ontario 05.10.2020

Healthy @ Home Coast to Coast Challenge starts today! You can still get out and walk BUT make sure you are practicing social/physical distancing - by walking alone (or the person you live with), staying 6 feet away from others, do not touch anything (benches, playground equipment etc) and wash your hands! The challenge rules are simple: get out for your daily walk and record how long you walk. At the end of each day, record your time and submit it below! https://sohealthyat...home.ca/stay-active/coast-to-coast/ Know someone without internet access? They can call in to our Hotline at 1 888 333 5515 ext 300. Just leave a message with your name and how long you walked for - that's it!

I just wanted to sayHI to all of our Special Olympic Athletes, Coaches and Volunteers. We are all doing our part in the spread and containment of this virus by socially isolating ourselves. We can still chat with each other and stay in touch through the computer / internet / our phones. I love hearing from you - if you need to chat, call, message or text me! Stay in touch via this site as well! My family and I miss you all terribly and we know we will get through this! We will reschedule our banquet and our bowling tournament to a date when we are able to get together again. In the meantime, continue to self isolate but keep chatting with each other via Facebook, texting, etc. Remember to always be a good person! We can get through this together!

Attention athletes, coaches & volunteers. We have been advised by Special Olympics Ontario to suspend all activities, including fundraising, practices and tournaments effective immediately until March 31, 2020. What this means? No swimming, curling, basketball, floor hockey or bowling will take place until further notice! We will keep you updated as weeks progress! -Aimee, L&A Community Coordinator
