This month's Whitehorse Keystone Kop Society Athlete of the Month is.. Sara-Lee Edmonds!! If Sara-Lee Edmonds could be a superhero, she’d probably pick the Flash judging by how busy she always is, it would be a welcome relief to be able to move that fast! Sara-Lee has been a Special Olympics Yukon athlete since 2007, and she excels in our swimming, soccer and bowling programs. She represented Team Yukon at the BC Summer Games in Kamloops (where she won gold in the swimming... pool in the 25m freestyle) and traveled to Antigonish, Nova Scotia, for the National Games in 2018 with the rest of our terrific soccer team where they won Silver. Sara-Lee also loves being involved in our Athlete Ambassador program, where she enjoys honing her public speaking and leadership skills. When she’s not swimming (or running!) laps, you’ll likely find Sara-Lee working at Bigway Foods or in the kitchen at the Church of the Nazarene daycare, whipping up waffles, pancakes and sausage links for the kids. She also loves to write when she’s not working, so if you’re lucky you might find one of her homemade cards in your mailbox this holiday season We hope you’ll join us in wishing Sara-Lee and all of our athletes a relaxing and restful holiday season. We’ll be profiling a new crop of SOY superstars in the new year, so keep your eyes right here!

Happy Tuesday Special Olympics Yukon family! Here are a few important reminders from the Government of Yukon on how to wear a mask or face covering. - Make sure to wash or sanitize your hands before you put on a mask and after you take one off. - Once your mask is on, avoid touching the mask and your face.... - When wearing a mask, your nose and mouth should always be completely covered. - If your mask becomes wet or dirty, change it for a new mask. - Disposable masks are to be thrown away after one use. - Cloth masks should be washed often.
