STORIES WANTED! Cape Breton Film is already planning our next project and we could use your help. We are looking for the greatest Cape Breton storytellers and t...heir best stories for an upcoming series of short films. Do you know someone who has a great story, and more importantly, tells a great story? We want to hear from them! Grab your cellphone, take a quick video (preferably 6-8 minutes) of yourself or your friend/granny/teacher/neighbour/etc telling their best story. Send your videos to [email protected] along with names and locations and a contact number by Saturday, December 5th. Our only requirement is that the story be Cape Breton based. Beyond that, the sky is the limit! We want to think ‘beyond the tartan’ and are actively seeking out stories from all corners of Cape Breton and all types of Cape Bretoners. Cape Breton is home to a wide range of cultures and perspectives, from the Mi’kmaq, Scottish and Acadian communities, to the differences between industrial Cape Breton and the more rural Western coast, as well as ‘come from aways’ and more recent Canadian arrivals who’ve chosen to make Cape Breton their home. If there’s one thing that binds us all together, aside from our love of this beautiful island, it’s our ability to tell a good tale. We’ll be rolling out more details about this exciting new project over the coming months. In the meantime, we can’t wait to hear what you’ve got to tell us!
