Today, I would like to acknowledge and congratulate one of my online clients Helen Jenkins Williams, for her outstanding efforts over the past 3 months! Helen Jenkins Williams started with me back in May, and so far has lost nearly 18 lbs!! Helen has adopted a strong and dedicated work ethic with her exercise program and daily habits!... She is also committed to her weight loss and getting healthier for the long game! Helen understands and has been committed to increasing her activity, and examining her daily habits to lose her weight permanently! Ideally, people should only go through ONE body transformation in their lifetime! Rapid, and quick weight loss programs are ineffective and don’t teach you how to live the life of a lean person? I am very proud of Helen’s commitment and efforts so far! Keep up the GREAT WORK Helen and continue providing an inspiring example to your family, friends, colleagues, etc! Runners out there...how much did you pay for your shoes? How well do you think you run? Have you ever had to resolve a chronic foot or leg condition during your running career wearing conventional running shoes. As a Sport Therapist of 24 years, I have taken many related courses about how running affects our feet, hips, knees, etc. ... As a former experienced runner myself of 35 years, I did experience wear and tear on my feet by wearing conventional shoes which enabled me to run unconsciously and with biomechanical fault. Fortunately the last 10 years of my running and racing career were more technical and biomechanically sound, which helped my race times and overall capacity. However, looking back, regardless of my running efficiency and efficacy, I still couldn't escape the conventional running shoe's inherent design faults! I suffered from corns, and blisters on my feet after my long runs, despite my running efficiency. Back then, it hadn't occurred to me that the significant wear and tear on my feet was due to the shoe design and that this enabled runners to run with many technical faults. The main fault for many runners was heel striking. I am 52 yrs young, and am finally contemplating to return to my running once more. As I was searching throught the Xero Shoes website, one the US's seminal "minimalist" shoe companies, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F90D418SFZI I stumbled upon a fairly controversial video (in 2014) and debate between the advent of the minimalist shoe industry and the BIG running shoe companies who were being being compelled to appreciate what their runners were going through with their seemingly outdated running shoe design. Ok, so if you are a runner, and you've ever suffered from an insidious running injury from the foot on up, and you don't have a clear enough diagnosis or explanation for this wear and tear, please give this short video a review. WHY IS A LACK OF MOBILITY, BAD? (Part 2/5) If youve had an injury, you know what its like to lose your mobility temporarily, until your acute symptoms resolv...e, and you successfully transitioned out of the acute phase of your injury. Many guys Ive talked to, are scarcely aware of their actual mobility while theyre seemingly healthy and how this provides them with a foundation for moving functionally, exercise-wise, or athletically. We should care about our mobility because our joints and specific anatomy or structure is what allows our functioning to happen with our movements in the real world. Like a carour joints, and anatomy, represent all the moving parts under the hood of our car. If you have a dysfunction somewhere in your moving parts, unlike your car, your body will find a path of least resistance, to get the movement done. Your car, on the other hand, will need to have the part repaired, or you purchase a new one. : Do you know about your own mobility? (Drop comments below please)

It has been 14 months since Jason and I began his rehabilitation journey for his ACL reconstructed surgery. I am very proud of this young man, his has been ded...icated and committed to seeing his rehabilitation through, right up to his return to sport phase, and back to the sport he loves. Patience and tenacity has proven to work for Jason, despite the fact that hes a very busy college student, working and just got engaged! It is kind of bitter sweet for me as our rehab journey is coming to an end. Jason is now at his return to his sport phase, which can be one of the more challenging phases of his rehabilitation! A great example of athletic therapy and athletes coming together! Great job Jason!!! See more
