Here are a few statistics: by the 1st grade, 5% of children have a noticeable articulation disorder 8-9% of preschool children have articulation difficulties... there are millions of people who have a language impairment in Canada boys are 3x more likely to stutter than girls

Here are a few Fluency Olympics you can practice with your children or adults who are experiencing fluency difficulties 1) Alpine Skiing Self Correction- read sentences in increasing length, how many did they self correct when a dysfluency occurred? 2) Figure Skating Conversation- ask the student an open ended question, how many dysfluent moments did they produce during conversational speech?

We have some major Olympic Fever at our home and I hope you do too! Here's a neat Olympic idea you can do with your child who needs some practice with categorizing. Have them make lists of different sports, the countries, medals, athletes, etc.
