As many of you have heard, Zone 2 will move to the Red Phase tonight at midnight. We will continue to offer both in person and where appropriate virtual visits. Please feel free to call the clinic if you have any questions regarding your appointment.
Here are some great alternatives to try when you are teaching your children rules and what behavior is expected of them.
This question comes up once in a while when I am seeing a family with a young child. Sometimes it’s hard to make the transition from a sippy cup to a regular cup or cup with a straw. I encourage parents to give it a try.
I have been receiving a lot of calls recently from caring and concerned parents requesting speech therapy services for their younger children who may be: -Delayed in their speech development -Not developing vocabulary as rapidly as parents feel they should be -Not meeting their milestones for communication skills... -Not using more than one word to express themselves -Using more gestures or non-verbal forms of communication -Only making sounds as opposed to using actual functional words to express their needs and wants. Etc.... This is all very common and can create concern for us parents. The information and tips in this article are helpful and encouraging. If you have a child who you feel might be delayed in their language you are not alone. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions or wish to book a consult. I fully support the closure of schools for the rest of the year in order to help decrease the spread of COVID-19. For many of us this may mean trying to continue working while our children are at home. This can be difficult to manage but I am dedicated to continuing to support my current clients/families and any new clients who may be interested in speech therapy. I will be reaching out to those families whom I have been working with to determine if there is an interest in ...teletherapy. This may look different than our regular one-on-one, face-to-face, in office sessions but there is growing support (and need) for tele health services. Please do not hesitate to contact me to discuss this option while we are all practicing social distancing. Stay safe and keep well! I will continue to update you all on any changes Speech Therapy NB undergoes.
Anyone else experiencing this What day is it again? confusion!
NOTICE Due to the recent COVID-19 outbreak, Speech Therapy NB will be temporarily closed for individual and group sessions. I will contact each client/family who are booked for the next 2 weeks(+) to discuss options regarding rescheduling these appointments. As the situation develops I will post further updates. If you were interested in booking an appointment please do not hesitate to contact me. I will still be taking calls and answering emails and messages as usual.... Please stay safe and healthy during this time of uncertainty. Chrissy Swan, S-LP
Developmental Milestones Having a good understanding of your child’s developmental milestones will help you recognize if OR when intervention might be needed. This point form guideline covers from birth to 5 years. ... Take a look at your child’s age as well as the year under to see if your little one is meeting his or her milestones. Feel free to contact me (FB message, phone 333-5411 or email speechtherapy [email protected]) if you have any questions Chrissy Swan Speech-Language Pathologist Speech Therapy NB
Merry Christmas from my family to yours. I wish you all a wonderful holiday season!
Merry Christmas!
In my first year of business as Speech Therapy NB I have had more growth and development than I’ve had in 8 years doing private work. I am thoroughly enjoying my career and love meeting and working with new and current families and a new set of coworkers at Archstone Physiotherapy. Wishing everyone a very happy and Merry Christmas!

It’s a good week to change up my book selections Incorporating actions and sound effects makes learning fun while reading this Halloween themed version of the traditional kids book The Wheels on the Bus.
An /R/ success story! As many parents may know, the /r/ sound can be challenging to change. It takes dedication and practice but this testimonial demonstrates that it is possible to make positive changes. I love a good Speech story such as this one!
