ELDOA for the mid-back ooh la la! Hello desk sitters...(and athletes, and...)
Very good visual. Thanks Mariane Talbot
Staying in the moment. Just being. Observing. Christmas might be over but some childhood objects can stay out longer #feelgoodobjects #mesmerising #inthemoment #energyshift #roechermenschengermany
Last night I heard a song from decades ago and I started to move automatically, it made me smile, it was awesome I couldn’t my stop moving and just feeling good. . If there were ever time to find those tunes we really resonate with and work them it is NOW. . What is your favourite?... Pleease share I would love to know! Music goes deep . #letthesunshinein #musicislife #lovetobemoved #itsfree #thankyoutotheartists See more
This ELDOA we should all be doing every day to reset the pelvis it's this one! it's the truth.
DAY 21 > Pelvic Shift Create more mobility in the spine. Assess where you have tension. Become aware of the differences btw right and left . Nice simple exercise to unravel diagonal tension in the spine and/or weakness in the hips ... . Give it a try! #spinemobility #diagonals #everythingisconnected #beingaware #createlength See more
Rest Rest your mind Rest your body Rest the panic Rest the anxiety... Rest the restlessness Rest the uncertainty Rest Rest and reset The Holidays are here allow yourself to rest, relax and reset giving in to nothingness. #mentalwellnessmatters #rest #resetbutton #goforwalks #walkingisunderrated #restwhilewalking #resetwhilewalking #donada #enjoy
DAY 20 > Head Hover Ooh this one is good that I have been using for years! Why good? Helps balance tension in the neck. With an ever growing forward head population the neck extensors (back of neck muscles) are locked short or tight, and the flexors (front of neck muscles) are locked long/tight - both scenarios = weakness and imbalance.... . This exercise strengthens the front and lengthens the back. . Tired of trying to stretch out your neck with no luck - try this one instead! . NOTE: proceed with caution if you have any cervical (neck) issues - instead of lifting your head just imagine that you are doing that and this will start the neural firing process . #neckstrength #neckbalance #nomoreneckpain #stimulateneckreceptors #strengthentobalance thanks @eileenbirks See more
You don't know you need this till you lie down and put your legs up that wall ahhh...
So good for hip mobility and letting go!
Just let your shoulders go! Here is a simple exercise to mobilize the shoulders. Feel free to repeat a few times . Oops! Towards the end there is some rattling in the background - just a 13wk old puppy grabbing some paper he shouldn’t be grabbing... Things don’t need to be perfect right! Ha! . #shouldermobility #freedomfromwithin #longlivethelemniscate! #spinandrollhappens #lettthearmshang See more
taking advantage when things work out...posting the remaining days
Coming to you a little later in the day but there is still time to get this in atleast once! Even before you go to bed . Tapping has often helped me change gears and get out of my head (so to speak) and it’s fun! . Tapping helps:... - calm the amygdala in the brain - regulate our nervous system - reduce stress and anxiety - and bring you into the moment . Shout out to @thetappingsolution #beatthestress #findthecalm #shiftgears #stimulatelymph #28dayslockdowntoronto #simplemoves
It has begun. Toronto’s 28-Day Lockdown. I thought it would be fun and a bit of an experiment to see if super simple moves done every hour or a few times a day make us feel better. . Do we already know the answer Yes we do ... Simply moving makes us feel pretty damn good! . Ok...announcement: let’s have some fun with a different exercise every day over the next 28 days. The smallest achievement goes a long way these days. . Stay tuned, moves to follow #keepitsimple #keepitreal #movementISmedicine #memtalhealthmatters #findasmallachievement #toyourhealth #pilatesandeldoa
whoa! today technology is on my side...Day 23 go go go!

If you've been thinking about getting certified in the ELDOA...
Absolutely a great exercise to mobilize the middle of your ribcage/upper back, an area that effects your breathing, your spinal movement, your posture and overall wellbeing. . Repeat as many times as you like - and go slow Do a few times a day especially if you are at a computer! .... Hugs feel good! Enjoy :) #mobilizethespine #lungsandheart #osteopathy #eldoa #pilates #wellness #massageorgans #bewell #takecareyou See more
The strain that our eyes endure looking at screens all day can cause our body to freeze or get stuck at the uppermost area of the spine. These eye movements will help scramble the vestibulo-ocular reflex and help relaxes muscles under your skull and around your eyes. And improve your body’s movement from head to toe! (Do a test: first turn yr head right and left notice the tension then do the eye exercises and repeat the turn right and left to see if the movement is easier, smoother)
Working at the computer? Shoulder tension? Elbow tendinitis? ...try this exercise for your hands! Just like the feet we tend to forget how much work our hands do. This will encourage the muscles to work a little different and will stimulate your mind #muscles #strength #release #prevention #movement #brainstimulation Dr. Ben Kim
Soon we'll be outside in sandals! Here's another 'simple' exercise to work the intrinsic muscles of your feet and strengthen your arches - enjoy! . Grateful for this one from the wonderful Pilates mentor Marie-Jose Blom . #feet #strongfoundation #supportyourspine #improveyourgait #loveyourfeet #proprioception
I never get tired of reading about Joe Pilates. He would have been extremely proud to see how his method has grown to a daily routine of health for so many people around the world. Here’s to you Joe!
Mobilize your ankles and strengthen your feet with this mini routine. It is simple and will help you walk better, improve your balance and posture. The foundation of our body: Feet. One of my favourites that I learned back in the day from Riki Richter ... Eventually...50x toes, 50x heels, 20x toes, 20x heels and 20x sway out (or more!)
We miss you all and it's so awesome to see you! We're very thankful to be able to offer online classes to help keep you moving, your tissues pliable, and above all help keep you stay sane!!
