USEFUL TIPS OF THE DAY How to Keep Deer Away from Bushes and Flowers: In a blender mix well 4 eggs, 2 oz. red-pepper sauce, 2 oz. chopped garlic with enough water to make 1 quart. Strain through old pantyhose into container. Apply with garden sprayer (if not thin enough to spray, add more water until the correct spraying consistency is achieved. This concoction seems to last for 2 to 3 weeks depending on the amount of rainfall and how many deer are around and about. How to Combat Black Spot on Roses: Mix 50 ounces of water with 4 tablespoons of baking soda and spray roses in early spring to combat black spot.
