Do you or a loved one have either an upper or lower complete denture that no longer fits as tightly as it used to? Consider implant-supported or "snap-on" dentures! Without teeth to stimulate the tooth-supporting bone, it will tend to shrink slowly overtime, causing ill-fitting dentures to become common place, especially for a bottom denture.... Placing two to four implants in the arch will not on\y provide much better retention for the denture than the gums ever did (even prior to shrinking), it will also provide the bone in the area the stimulus it requires to minimize bone shrinkage. This means your denture will fit tighter for longer! In accordance with new guidelines released by the Alberta Dental Association + College on May 1st, 2020, dentists have been instructed to reopen dental offices to include urgent dental care in addition to emergency care. Urgent dental conditions include but are not limited to: - Wisdom tooth pain - Tooth abscess - Deep cavity causing pain... - Crown/bridge cementation - Denture adjustments - Active orthodontics We understand that anxieties towards returning to relative normalcy are high, but we would like to reassure our patients that every precaution is being taken to keep our staff and our community safe. Some things you will notice include: - Patient and staff pre-screening for COVID-19 symptoms and risks. - Patient and staff consent forms for COVID-19. - Temperature checks before every appointment. - Closed operatory doors for all appointments. - Protective barriers for reception area. - 1% hydrogen peroxide 5cc 30 second rinse prior to treatment. - Social distancing in both waiting area and rest of clinic. Due to the quickly developing COVID-19 crisis in Canada and Alberta, Spirit River Dental will be postponing any elective dental treatment - which includes cleanings, fillings, and routine check-ups - until further notice as is recommended by the Alberta Dental Association and College. This is to mitigate any possible unnecessary spread of the novel coronavirus throughout Alberta and our community. Effective immediately, we will be treating emergency patients only on Wednesday...s during our regular business hours. Emergency treatment includes extractions, root canals, and other therapies as related to pain or infection. We are doing this to alleviate the already over-stressed medical staff and facilities from any dental related emergencies. If you have an elective dental treatment booked with us in the next 14 days, we will be in touch with you to reschedule your appointment.
