Do you enjoy diving deeply into your feeling world or would you rather avoid the messiness of your emotions? The assertive types of the Enneagram, type 3, 7 and 8 tend to underuse their heart center, and benefit from practising being more in contact with their heart. Just because some of us are more comfortable with the messiness of feelings however, doesn’t mean that we can’t benefit from heart opening practises as well.... As a type 4, feeling deeply makes me feel alive. I do things to help turn up the intensity of my emotions, even some of the difficult ones. Sometimes however, when we have a pattern of extending or even revelling a bit in feelings like anger, sadness or longing we are actually not in our hearts. Staying in the drama of an emotional roller coaster can be another way of avoiding the truth in our hearts. If this intrigues you and you’d like more practical tools to find more balance and grow with the help of the Enneagram I’d love for you to join my Facebook community; SISTERS WHO SEEK TO SOAR.

Enneagram type Eights are part of the Body Center triad and have a tendency to overuse this center. Always ready to act on what they want, their action is often excessive which leads to tension in their bodies. Practicing getting more in touch with their HEART Center, helps type Eights to relax their energy and explore the feelings that are hiding behind their more easily expressed anger.... Instead of pushing themselves to the limit, type Eights benefit from allowing their heart to nurture their body. What supports you to connect with your heart?

When discovering their type most people ask Now what? The beauty of the Enneagram is that it facilitates growth. One great place to start your growth journey is to work with aligning your centers of intelligence. This can also be a place to start exploring if you’re not sure about your type yet. The personality fixation of each Enneagram type is associated primarily with either our mind, heart or body center, which shapes our way of relating to the world. All types have al...l three centers in us, but we all have an imbalance where we tend to distort or block one center. This means that each type also distort or block the emotion (fear, distress or anger) that relates to the center where they are fixated. Enneagram type 8, 9 and 1 lead with their body intelligence through instinct and are concerned with fairness and control of their environment. The common emotion in this triad is anger. Type 2, 3 and 4 rely primarily on the heart center through mood, tone and feelings and are relationship oriented and concerned with self-image. These types carry a great deal of distress and shame. Type 5, 6 & 7 rely first on their head center through logic, reason and analysis and are information oriented. The driving emotion in this triad is fear.
