We would like to encourage everyone to consider and follow Covid protocol when coming to SHS. We have hand sanitizer and disinfecting spray for personal use and ask boarders to disinfect their tie stalls, lockers, pitchforks etcetera after use. A reminder when in the barn to follow the social distancing guidelines. All clients are asked to wear a mask and stay minimum 6 feet apart from each other. Offering for sale or lease, Spirit is an 11 year old Grade AQH gelding standing at 15.2 hands. Solid walk, trot, canter, uncomplicated and not spooky. Goes English and western, was previously used for the Strathcona Mounted Troops and drill team. Has jumped small courses with a junior. The apartment is attached to a part time stable position 2-3 shifts a month plus regular evening / sleep monitoring of barn and property. Applicant must have equine work skills and experience. DANCING IN THE DIRT FRIDAY,NOVEMBER 13 7:00-10:00 Join us for line dancing in the arena . Line dance instructor Darlene Arsenault of Classic Country Dancing will be our dance instructor starting all the fun at 7:30-9:30. Darlene is fun, fun , fun! and brings such enthusiasm I can guarantee we are going to have a great time.

Walk and Talk tomorrow- Friday 28 6:00. We are having social after 7:30 fire , hotdogs and s’mores. Bring what you want to go along with it.

Part time position available at SHS. Evening (4:30-10) and weekend morning (7:30-12) or day (or 8-5) shifts 2-4 days per week. Tasks including but not limited to: Feeding, turning out/in, blanketing, cleaning of stalls, harrowing riding arenas, sweeping/dusting/scrubbing inside barn, and cleaning up around the yard. Living accommodations possible. Shared on site apartment, 2 bathrooms and 3 bedrooms, with living room and full kitchen. $550 per month, with a $275 damage depo...sit. Hey everyone , want to get away for a trail ride and some obstacle/ fun riding in outdoor arena. August 19. Come along with us to the ranch- 35-40 min drive. We will have room for hauling some horses, or come along with a friend. Enjoy a different country setting and then join in for a short social time and fire / hot dogs and s’mores after. Drive time approx 6:00 and return to SHS approx 10:30. Everyone welcome- non riders come along too, come and get a different view on a great Alberta evening.

Hi everyone. It took most of the summer , finally bush pen trails open and dry. Please check it out. Go for a little trail ride or cool down after your lesson. Take your horse for a walk and grass, even take the barn bike for a ride thru it. I think it’s a truly beautiful area- please enjoy it. Access from the southwest corner of SHS- beside or behind the shop.

Hi everyone. Anyone interested in Walk and Talk tomorrow . It’s supposed to be nice tomorrow. It might be good to have a little earlier start, before mosquitoes really come out, maybe 6:00, 6:30? Walk and Talk is opening for anyone to come, we do a walk ride with partners, visiting and then we have a social get together after.

Just putting this out there again.Looking for bike donation for the summer. Our back pasture is open and the horses are loving it back there. It is a bit of a walk. It would be wonderful if anyone has a bike that they would like to donate for use for the summer at SHS. The bike can be used to get to the pasture , leave, and ride back when horse is taken back. If anyone has a not in use bike it would be greatly appreciated.

Still Looking! Is anyone interested in doing some extra riding this summer, trying a new horse? I am finding it hard to commit the time to ride 3 horses this summer and would really appreciate some exercise rides on one horse- Spirit. Requires an intermediate rider.Pm if interested.

Field Trip to 2 V ranch. If anyone is interested in joining the Walk and Talk trip on Monday let me know. We have a 10 horse stock trailer or bring your own trailer. Chance to get off the property and out in the country for a bit.

Hi ladies just looking ahead at weather. So much rain , except Monday. Would anyone be interested in a trip out to the ranch near Lac la Nonne, 35 mins from SHS . We will trailer - either big stock trailer or 2 trailers. Leave at 4:00-4:30 come back for 9:30. Outside arena , or short 2 mile trail ride. We can have our social in the community kitchen ajoined to the barn. Let me know if interest. I know it’s short notice - but you’ve got to jump on the good weather when you get it. Other wise we can look at a rainy Wednesday 8th or Friday 10 th ride.

Young riders summer supervised ride and chores starting July 1. This summer we are going to try a weekly supervised ride day with an hour of chores component with it. Alyssa is working at SHS for the summer , along with her regular work she will be organizing the 1 hour of chore component and a 1 hour supervised ride. Alyssa, Cathryn, and Sandy will be available for the supervised rides. This will run Wednesdays 11:00- 3:00. The chores will start at 11:00 and the ride will be 1:00. This supervised time will allow young riders to have drop off time at the barn. Please message Sandy if your interest, and if you have any further questions .
