Sport Abbotsford

This really needs to happen. This is not a safety issue; it is a financial issue. The City of Abbotsford needs to do the right thing here for the kids.

Langley Delta Surrey Vancouver Abbotsford ... Municipalities across BC are opening their outdoor pools, providing a safe summer activity for families and sports groups. Abbotsford is keeping theirs closed - once again they are prioritizing revenue over recreation. Thousands of families use the pool, and the Abbotsford Whalers Swim Club rely on it for their summer season. The good news? It's not too late. Sign the petition below, and tell Abbotsford Council that you want the pool re-opened!

Love, Integrity, and Respect. The very foundations of baseball and the reasons our kids should be encouraged to play this game. With restrictions in place for the COVID19 Pandemic we have seen Youth Sports driven underground. Without guidelines, games are being played; full games. We are just not there yet. No PSO, no LSO, using City Fields without bookings and no insurance of any kind for any participants or organizers. We need responsible volunteers and leaders who have don...e the research to be empowered & protected so we can put forward safe programming for our children. What many are doing is unsafe and it is being done out of frustration and misunderstanding. Those parents/coaches who are taking these sports underground must not realize their exposure to risk. If they are sued this will cost them; Big Time. They are liable. Even if they are found innocent they will still fork over a lot of money to retain legal counsel to defend themselves. They must not understand this risk. We need the Provincial Government to protect volunteers; Horgan’s recently announced protection was a great soundbite for the media but that protection expires when the State of Emergency expires. That would be on Tuesday. Thanks for nothing. We need protection spanning the next 2 years at least to get things restarted. We want to get the kids back to programming. We are fighting the good fight and following the rules. We need more from this Provincial Government. We need the underground Youth Sports Groups to stop. What you are doing is wrong and unsafe.
