Have you completed your weekly waiver yet? The winter 2021 Sportball season kicks off on Saturday, January 16th. All classes scheduled to begin this weekend at the following locations, Hammonds Plains Community Centre, North Woodside Community Centre, University of Kings College Gym and Douglas St. Rec Centre, will receive an automated email with both pre-arrival information about your local facility but also the weekly waiver link. Have you checked out our new locations lately? Through our partnership programs offered through Halifax Recreation, we have established new locations such as Findlay Community Centre in Dartmouth, Sackville Sports Stadium in Sackville, and after a brief hiatus, Sportball is back at the Tallahassee Community Centre in Eastern Passage. These facilities compliment our total of 10 locations offering over 60 programs per week in the HRM alone. Find something convenient for you and join us for the winter 2021 season, set to begin on January 16th.

Still plenty of space left in most programs for the upcoming winter 2021 Sportball Multi-Sport season. Sportball is offering Multi-Sport programs for ages 16- 24 months, 2-3 years, 3-5 years, 6-8 years and 9-12 years at various locations through HRM. Due to high demand at the Hammonds Plains Community Centre, we have added another class for 2-3 year olds on Saturday's. Please visit the link below to register directly for this program.

A reminder that programs originally scheduled for January 9th/10th at the Hammonds Plains Community Centre, North Woodside Community Centre, Kings College and Douglas St. Rec Centre have been delayed until the weekend of January 16th/17th. HRM Registration begins today! Jump on quick, space sells out quickly. Please visit Program search (halifax.ca) to search for Sportball programs and register. Visit the link, either login and/or click on ‘Search for Courses’ (top left corner) and in the ‘Program Name’ search bar type ‘Sportball’.

Need to work off the turkey? We have a Speed Pass for all ages. 5-7 year olds join us for 2 hours a day for a Sportball Holiday Speed Pass Dec 28-31st at Hammonds Plains Community Centre.

Kids going stir crazy through the pandemic? 6-8 year olds need exercise too. Join Sportball at the University of Kings College Gymnasium for a multi-sport program through the winter. They will love it!

Many of you have been patiently waiting for U of Kings to open their facility. Good news, programs will begin there on Sunday, October 25th, after a slight delay. Not to be outdone, Cole Harbour had it's share of weather last night, and this beautiful double rainbow over the Cole Harbour Commons. Absolutely breath taking! Oh yeah, we did some soccer too! Thanks Cole Harbour!

Fall recreation registration opens on Thursday, Oct. 8. View available programs online at halifax.ca/myrec. All programs will begin the week of Monday, October ...19 and will run for eight weeks. Preschool, child, youth and adult program registration will open at 10 a.m. and aquatics and skating program registration will open at 2 p.m. Participants can register by phone at (902)-490-6666, online or in person at the following locations: George Dixon Community Centre Sackville Sports Stadium Musquodoboit Harbour Recreation Centre Findlay Community Centre Chocolate Lake Recreation Centre Captain William Spry Community Centre The municipality is following a phased approach, and not all programs will be returning for the fall.
