A prowler is a specific type of sled that allows you to load multiple plates onto it to increase the resistance that one must work against when pushing (or pulling the sled/weight). This can also have a variety of handle placements (high, low, vertical, horizontal) to help coaches and athletes train a wide array of angles. Increased muscle hypertrophy is a primary benefit from doing long duration (45-90 seconds) prowler pushes. By pushing the sled at the above angles, you cha...llenge the quads, glutes, abdominals, erectors,and upper body to stay rigid and contract for prolonged periods of time, which has been shown (time under tension training) to increase muscle growth. Recognizing this, we wanted to share some of the preventative steps Sport Central is taking to ensure our facilities remain safe and provide ...cleanliness and remain open 24-hours a day 365 days per year. These include: * Sanitation bottles throughout the gym * Hand sanitizer stations in the lobby and gym * Regular staff cleaning of equipment and stations * Daily professional cleaning company providing a full sanitary building wipe down * Multiple men and women washroom facilities with hot water, soap and automatic dispensing paper towel * Firm policy will self-quarantine for a minimum of 14 days following the return of any travel outside of Canada * Requesting all members and visitors to stay home if you feel unwell with a fever, cough and difficulty breathing For self preventative measures, you can: * Limit physical contact with other members or staff whenever possible * Avoid putting your hands near your face and mouth during your workout * Wash your hands with hot soap and water before entering the gym and following your workout located throughout the gym and lobby * Please wipe down your station and equipment at the end of your workout with the cleaning spray bottles and towels located throughout the gym It’s important that you, as a pivotal part of our community, not only take an active role in preventing the spread of infection by staying home if you are unwell, but partner with us to remind the community what steps they can take to maintain a healthy environment for all.
