This is a follow up announcement on MEI volleyball training opportunities. Things are changing by the day with club options emerging. In light of that, MEI would like to know how many athletes would be interested in developing their volleyball skills. Please sign up on a PE bulletin board Thursday or Friday. Once we know how many athletes are interested we can make the best decision on how to proceed. Talk to Mr. Shuel or Mr. R. Thiessen for more information.

SPORTS UPDATE As students anticipate returning to school this week, athletes and parents should be aware that school sports are not currently permitted. The Ministry of Education has not allowed schools to offer sports beyond limited training opportunities for students in a learning cohort.... Until the government changes that policy directive, MEI cannot hold tryouts for fall sports or run practices which mix students from different learning cohorts without physical distancing and wearing masks. For now, all schools in BC are bound by these restrictions meaning there will be no teams or games for the foreseeable future. It is a little confusing for some athletes who are already training with their club or community teams but those organizations are not governed by the Ministry of Education. Contact AD Rick Thiessen if you have questions.
