Biidaaban is told with puppets and stop motion, but the issues it deals with land development, animal displacement, connection to Indigenous culture are so real that Amanda Spotted Fawn Strong considers it a documentary of sorts.
Biidaaban (the dawn comes)
We would like to Thank everyone who submitted for our casting call for the puppet of Dove, the lead in Wheetago War. The number of applicants has been overwhelming. We have really enjoyed the responses we've received from the Indigenous community, and it's been a treat to get to know a little bit about each one of you through your photos and e-mails. We will be in touch once the decision has been made.
Last chance to receive a puppet of yourself and be the lead character for our next short animation Wheetago War? Spotted Fawn Productions in co production with the National Film Board of Canada is looking for an Indigenous (15-35) male, female, trans, non- binary, straight, gay, bi-sexual person or persons to be the inspiration for our lead character Dove, for our upcoming film (Written by: Richard Van Camp). Final Deadline is March 30th.
