Julie’s last day today before baby pumpkin is born. Kelsey was originally pretty sad, but she found a new friend to keep her company until Julie is back from maternity leave.

We are excited to announce that we have reopened and are seeing patients! We have carefully planned and revised our office procedures to greatly minimize any risk of infection. Our own families are also patients here, so you can be assured that well be taking care of you just as well as well be taking care of them. Our office may be closed temporarily, but the dental community in Kelowna has recognized that these are extraordinary times and has pulled together and created a centralized care facility, as directed by our governing bodies, to attend to the truly urgent and emergent dental needs of this community. The College of Dental Surgeons of BC, the governing body for dentistry in this province, has recommended that all dental practices close until further notice. In accordance with their directive, Springfield Dental Centre will be cancelling all elective and non-essential dental treatments until we know that it will be safe for our team, our patients and our community to return to work. This situation is changing every day, which means our response will adjust as well. First day back in the office for 2020. Christine has returned from her maternity leave and is looking forward to seeing some familiar faces (and teeth). We are so glad to see her smile around the office again!

Julie and Dustin stopped by on their way home from the hospital to register our newest patient.

Julie and Dustin are overjoyed to share news of the early arrival of their beautiful son Hudson Takashi Shypitka. 7lbs 12oz November 9, 2019. Both mom and baby are doing well.

The National Institute of Health warned that if it is not removed, plaque can turn into tartar, a hard deposit at the base of the tooth. Both plaque and tartar inflame gums and produce bacteria and toxins that cause gums to get infected with gingivitis. It can be near impossible to remove hardened deposit from your teeth at home, even if your oral hygiene habits improve to regular brushing and flossing with proper technique. At your dental hygiene appointments the dental ...hygienist uses their instruments to remove that tenacious hardened build up. After the dental hygiene therapy refreshes or restarts your mouth, it is much easier to maintain a healthy environment. As part of therapy, we re-evaluate our patients 4-6 weeks after initial treatment to monitor their health progress and the success of their home care practices. Christine and Greg are happy to share their beautiful baby girl, Jocelyn Anna Magee. 6lbs14oz born December 29 2018. Both mom and baby are doing well.

Dr. Buschel recently had the opportunity to share his experience of integrating 3D dental scanning into our practice with Cone Beam Computed Tomography Magazine.

We made it through our first full week without Christine in the office- but did we ever miss her! Last few weeks before baby M arrives!

Luna was an outstanding assistant for her sister Marlowes very first appointment. Sometimes Julie and Dr Buschel need help counting all of the teeth. Thanks for doing such a great job Luna!
