Springwater Sports Heritage 30.12.2020

2018 Inductee : Ormand Homer Barrett At age twelve this Elmvale sporting icon began an amazingly hockey career. After winning an O.H.A. Jr C championship with Midland, Homer was an integral member of several Intermediate winning teams. The recipient of numerous M.V.P awards and scoring titles Homer was declared sportsman of the 1960’s decade. Subsequently the Homer Barrett Community Park was named in his honor. Scoring one thousand career goals is a testimonial to his success. A star infielder with the Elmvale Merchants ball club Homer led the team to two consecutive Barrie Senior League titles. His dedication, commitment, and respect for others were key elements of his exemplary leadership and sportsmanship.

Springwater Sports Heritage 11.12.2020

Terry grew up in Minesing. He played his minor hockey in the Barrie Minor Hockey Association and beginning in 1972 played his OHA Junior hockey with London. Several NHL Teams benefitted from his skills the most notable were the years spent with the Toronto Maple Leafs. Terry continued his career in hockey in various capacities as Head Coach, Assistant Coach and Pro Scout. Terry is also an inductee of the Barrie Sports Hall of Fame

2018 Induction Award- Elmvale Angels Ladies Softball Team For eight triumphant years the Elmvale Angels Ladies Softball Team outperformed their competitors to develop into a celebrated baseball dynasty. Throughout the period from 1977 to 1984 an unsurpassed number of Tournament, League and Playoff Championships were accomplished and became the team’s only accepted outcome. In 1982 their highest ranking achievement was realized when they won the PWSA Senior Tier II Provincia...l Championship and became a Tier I National Championship Qualifier.
