Couple cute piccies from opening day...not gonna lie the first 2 years as a new business in the food industry has been a daunting milestone...one that many are quick to warn you youll be lucky to survive! Throw a global pandemic in the mix and its not exactly what you expected during the so is noow a good time to have a baby? conversations But hey! Were here and were stronger for it...weve laughed and cried and sweated and bled (not in the bread) and been absolutel...y overwhelmed by the support and response to our little bakery dream. We love serving our neighbourhood fresh bread and tasty coffee and are so excited for the next two years and the twenty after that...from the bottom of our hearts Thank You Kelowna. BLACK LIVES MATTER Hopefully as some of the hype quietens down were not all forgetting this...in a bid to be transparent rather than performative I wanted to share the receipt from our donation in June after our collaboration with @notbadceramics and their vase auction, as promised. It has been a transformative few months across the globe and I think the work is just getting started, I also think its a great sign of how busy (with support) BLM Toronto has been that this r...eceipt took 8 weeks to process! @laurenhume26 we hope youre enjoying your vase @ Sprout Bread

OK folks heres the plan! Starting this week (May 19-23) were extending our hours back to the regular 7:30-4:30 Next week (May 24-31) well be open 7 days again ... TAKEOUT ONLY UNTIL JUNE 1st Thats right...in order to give us a chance to properly review the blueprint of best practices as laid out by the BC Restaurant & Food Services Assc. and reopening restrictions set out by Dr. Bonnie Henry well continue to do takeout and pickup orders only until June 1st. Although we could open for dine-in sooner we feel as though its important to take the time to address the new normal with our staff as they return to work. Wed like to ensure we have the correct systems in place and everything we need for a safe, happy and healthy return to Sprout for both employees and YOU our wonderful community. Our boy Ben from Treasure Life Flour Mills braved the roads for 10 hours yesterday just so we could have fresh flour! And after a quick cup of chamomile and a long catch up it was straight back to Creston cos a farmers always busy. What a guy! So...organic, heirloom flour and grains back on the shelves. Weve got spelt, red fife, rye, rolled oats, cracked rye and more...and did you know if we dont have it on the shelves just ask one of our friendly bakers to bag you up some from the back. All organic flours in the bread always
