We truly have no words to express how we are feeling in this very moment. To be recognized for such an honour, amongst so many outstanding humans and organizations in our community, is humbling to say the least. We are grateful to just be considered, never mind being crowned the Youth Champion of the Squamish Business Excellence Awards. . Hugs and thank you to our incredible teachers, both past and present. Without our teachers, Squamish Dance Centre would not be what it is today. Our teachers go above and beyond daily to ensure every child feels seen, heard, loved, supported and understood. They are the awe-inspiring magic to our dance family and we are forever grateful for everything they do. . Hugs and thank you to our community. This extends to every single person, from day one or new to us this season, who has supported our vision, growth and morals. Without YOU, none of this would be possible. We love you! . Lastly, we want to use this opportunity to acknowledge two dance mamas from the past who created the foundation for Squamish Dance Centre to flourish with. Debbie Vidas and Jane Runnals. Thank you for being the dance teachers that every child needs in their life. You are both rare gems in our world and we are grateful for all that you have contributed to the dance community of Squamish. Without your guidance, wisdom and support, Squamish Dance Centre would not be alive and well. We hope to continue to carry the torch and pass on the love of dance for generations to come. . Along with many other fantastic items :) The Squamish arts community is exceptionally versatile, vibrant and full of talent. Supporting organizations such as the HSMF is imperative to keeping our arts community's light shining bright and opportunities available for both young and old!! <3

And just like that we are back in our dance home! Please check your email for an important update regarding our return. We’re calling this our hybrid reopening: take class on Zoom or in person. We support your family no matter what! WE CAN’T WAIT TO SEE YOU DANCERS!!!

They are here! Booya! . We are thrilled to have upgraded our classroom air purifiers with @surgicallycleanair Jade units. We are confident and excited to see stronger results with our dance home’s general air quality. We are tickled pink to have the ability to go above just disinfecting our dance home’s surfaces & equipment and actually clean the air that we breath! . We can’t wait until we are back in our dance home moving and grooving with our brilliant dancers, all while enjoying the fresh clean air!!!

It’s been six long months since all four studios have been filled with our favourite humans. We are grateful. We are thankful. We are bursting with overwhelming joy. THANK YOU for your patience, support and love as we navigated our reopening. We can’t express with words how much it means to us. Today we are standing tall, strong and proud

Hello from our 2020/21 Student Teachers! We are honoured, grateful and excited to be part of their leadership development. We can’t wait to watch them create long lasting relationships and positively impact the lives of our tiniest dancers. Please give these eager and hard working little humans some big love when you see them buzzing around the studio!

WHAT AN AMAZING DAY!!! All nine teachers came together for a full day of building connections, learning, collaborating, exploring and expanding our skills as a team and as leaders for our students. We are ready and eager to start our first week of classes!! . Shout out to Nicole who facilitated an incredibly informative session on Supporting & Engaging Diverse Dancers In An Inclusive Setting. Countless takeaways that we are excited to apply inside our classrooms!!! More too...ls in our box to better support our students . Another shout out to Vanessa from @healthyheartsbc who facilitated a super fun session to strengthen ourselves as a team and as leaders. We learned many new things about ourselves and each other which will ensure an even tighter cohesiveness within our team than before. Shout out to Mike and Kyla for an awesome day brushing up on all things First Aid! Miss Sara, Miss Sarah, Miss Cierra, Miss Briana and Miss Jenny had a super fun day becoming Red Cross Child Care First Aid CERTIFIED!

A little sanding and refinishing and our Acro/Aerial Studio’s floor is ready for our return to classes Are you ready for our fifth season of dance?! ONLY 14 DAYS AWAY!!!! . The SDC Team can’t wait to be back in our dance home full time doing what we love most! We’ve missed our dance families an unexplainable amount and are counting down the minutes until we reunite and jump back into training. See you soon!!!!
