Dear Square Roots Bundle customers, We want to thank you all for supporting our project and allowing us to make a difference within our communities by combating food waste and food access challenges. In order to ensure that we can continue to make an impact and expand our reach to help more Canadians, we had to make some small changes to our project. ... Over the past 4 amazing years our prices remained the same, despite rising costs. To meet the breakeven and to be able to continue our services, especially during the crisis we’re facing today, our bundles will now have a base price $7.50. However, you can still purchase a $10.00 bundle if you choose to do so, and the $2.50 donation will go to the Community Manager to help them to provide your community with affordable and accessible produce. In other super exciting news, we’ve partnered with the delivery service OnDoor and we’ll be offering delivery for bundles starting September 19th! You can purchase a bundle for your location and pickup at the locations as usual, or for delivery, order through our website and select OnDoor Delivery if your delivery address qualifies. If you are in need and would like to apply for a free bundle, you can do so through this application form (https://www.squarerootsfood.ca/bundle-service) and if delivery is required you will only be responsible for the $1.99 fee. We hope you understand our changes and we can not wait to have you continue supporting us in order for us to support you!

The excitement continues as I'm SO happy to announce that At Home Harvest is beginning a wonderful partnership with Square Roots! Square Roots is a local non-profit that aims to reduce food waste and food access challenges. Square Roots Sackville has been helping our community by offering free veggie and produce boxes during the COVID-19 pandemic. My farmers market haul this week. We are so lucky to live in a place with direct farm to table food access. Supporting local farmers is important to our resilie...ncy as a province and our local economy - as well as our own health and well-being. Assuring fresh local produce is available to everyone is also something that is incredibly important. That is why initiatives like the Mobile Food Market and Square Roots are so important to support. So far Square Roots SMU has donated 67,885 lbs of fresh free veggies during the pandemic, reducing food waste and food insecurity. It is a great program that I have been a fan and supporter of since it was launched by students from SMU a few years ago. There are many other great organizations helping feed people, like Feed Nova Scotia and the local Emmanuel Church Food Bank. If you are able, consider throwing a few items in the donation box next time you are at Sobey’s or No Frills. #foodforall #makingitwork #foreveryone #votepatty11 See more
