SRC Music is open as of today , for now we will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays from noon-6pm . We ask that there be no more than two customers at a time in the store and that everyone respect social distancing . Thanks
UPDATE !!!!!!!!, REOPENING !! PLEASE SHARE , Well folks it’s been long enough , just a heads up that I will be reopening SRC Music Tuesday June 16 . At this time I am going to limit the days of operations and hours to Tuesday’s and Thursday’s for now ( noon - 6 pm ) . I know there are a lot of people who want and or require instrument repairs / service and are in need of accessories etc , that said I will be implementing a different approach which will require a minimum ...two day quarantine period for instruments brought in for repair . Unfortunately this is not usual protocol as I previously had strived for next day turn around for most but under the circumstances I feel it’s what’s required. I would also like to extend a huge thank you to all our customers for their patience during these trying times and I am looking forward to serving the communities needs once again . Stay safe and stay strong ! Thanks Brent See more

PLEASE SHARE THIS , Well folks here we are in the midst of week 9 of business closure . Here is what I can tell you about the possibility of a soft reopening of SRC Music . Economically I operate like most small businesses , very little profit on goods sold . My main revenue generator is Music Lessons , this makes up over 50% of my total revenue , second to that is service and repairs of instruments etc , this makes up about 75% of the remaining 50% of gross revenue of which... I can’t offer at this time . Instrument and accessory sales therefore only make up at most 10-15% of my revenue . So now let’s talk about funding for small businesses ( absolutely none apply to SRC ) as I am a sole proprietor and considered a micro business . The only funding for me is the monthly CERB payment of $2000.00 of which is and has been and will continue to be my only means to pay the bills at SRC to survive . The short version is it would have to sell a minimum of $10000.00 of accessories and retail product ( remember I can’t offer lessons or repairs ) just make a profit equivalent of the CERB , which is not even close to being realistic . The Bottom line is I can’t afford to reopen at this time ! I am hopeful that there is or will be a way for me to do so shortly, however until I can resume business as usual it just makes no sense . At this point I am looking to survive and reopen with some normality and profitability that would at least equal the CERB and the allowable extra $1000 per month . This all said I hope everyone is healthy and safe and I am looking forward reopening when it makes financial sense . PLEASE SHARE THIS . Thanks Brent See more

Happy Mother’s Day !
Hi Guys, Just wanted to share a song I wrote in honour of cancer awareness month and, to remind everyone we are in this together. I hope it gives you all the p...ositive vibes in these crazy times Big thank you to all of our essential workers, I hope everyone is staying healthy and safe! Enjoy
Here is one example of the hardships of small business owners add to that the circumstances of which most are dealing with right now with no revenue being generated . SRC Music consumed $35.64 worth of natural gas in this billing cycle Mar 10/2020 through April 7/2020 , but yet all said and done the monthly cost over $200.00 . This is an in your face example of how big business thrives even during the hardest times . As well I closed the doors Mar 15 and set furnace thermostat to 16 degrees . Together we need to demand relief from all utility, insurance and internet providers for our businesses.
Happy Wednesday folks , CURB SIDE PICK UP of Retail goods is today’s subject . I hope this adds some clarification for businesses like SRC . I decided to do some homework this week to help clarify some unknowns . I have been contacted by customers to see if I can offer CURB SIDE PICKUP and or why I have not ! Well here goes . I have worked diligently this week for clarification of essential businesses and especially CURB SIDE PICK UP option . To be clear ! Unless your ret...ail business in on the list of essentials you CAN NOT operate even if your doors are closed and are offering curb side pick up , DON’T it is ILLEGAL and against the provincial order . The exception is if you have an E-commerce website with an online shopping , put it in the cart and shipped to customer via recognized courier (ie: UPS, Purolator, Canpar , Canada Post or a local bonded courier service) from your door to the customers door . I obtained this information directly from City of Ottawa Bylaw , town of Carleton Place bylaw ( who escalated to province for clarification ) . Hope this is helpful See more
