À regret, plusieurs communiqués ambigus et / ou imprécis ont été publiés depuis hier à propos de la soi-disante repri...se de travail pour certains inspecteurs. Or, selon nos sources d’information gouvernementale et autres et jusqu’à avis contraire, le décret d’arrêt de travail pour les inspecteurs de bâtiments demeure toujours inchangé! Bref, l’annonce du 13 avril s’applique uniquement aux inspections correspondantes à la GCR. (garantie de constructions résidentielles) et ceci, uniquement pour les nouvelles constructions ou rénovations livrables jusqu’au 31 juillet. Par conséquent, pour le moment et ceci jusqu’à nouvel ordre, le 4 mai demeure la date que l’on peut envisager comme possible pour une reprise. Entre temps, nous travaillons sur un protocole d’inspection afin d’être prêt à travailler tout en assurant la santé et la sécurité pour tous les intervenants. There have been ambiguous press releases that have been issued since yesterday about the resumption of work for Home inspectors. Based on reliable government and other sources of information and until further notice, the lock-down for building inspectors remains unchanged. The April 13 announcement applies only to inspections corresponding to the GCR. (Guarantee of residential construction). Therefore, for the time being, May 4 remains the date that can be considered as possible for a resumption of work for our members. In the meantime we are working on an inspection protocol such that when we do resume our inspections, we will do so while ensuring the health of all stakeholders. Be sure that we will keep you informed as soon as reliable information becomes available with the hope that the scenario will improve. It is important that you be aware of the contents of your insurance coverage in view of the current circumstances. As you know, a government order has being issued prohibiting non-essential companies from offering their services in order to eliminate the transmission of Coronavirus to the general population. Note that currently no insurer is issuing an opinion regarding insurance coverage for a hypothetical future claim resulting from an inspection completed during the period covered by the ministerial order. If you choose to do inspections regardless of the ministerial decree, you run the risk of being fined and will only know when reporting a future claim whether the insurer on the risk will confirm the coverage or not.
