We are so proud of all of the men and women of our armed forces and thankful for the sacrifices made by our veterans.

Set up is underway for Halloween 2020. Looking forward to seeing the kids tonight!!!!

Looking forward to seeing all of our favorite ghosts and goblins tomorrow night at the fire hall. We will be opening up at 5 pm. We ask that those attending respect social distancing while proceeding through the hall. We ask that you enter from the Eagle Lake Road entrance and line up by the traffic cones and keep 6 feet between your family and the next family. Kids will enter through the second bay door and receive their bag from one of our firefighters dressed in a hazmat suit. Kids will exit the fourth bay door and be able to have their picture taken near a fire truck if they choose. We would like to than everyone that has donated to help us make this a fun and safe event for the kids. We would like to thank South River Lions Club and South River Legion Branch 390 for their support and South River Kwikway.

Reminder that the South River Machar Firefighters Association has partnered with the South River Lions Club for Halloween this year to provide a safer alternative to door to door trick or treating. The Village of South River is discouraging door trick or treating within the Village for this year. If your children are doing limited door to door trick or treating please ensure they follow the Health Unit guidelines and are respectful and do not attend at any home where the outside lights are off.

Due to the current Covid 19 pandemic the Village of South River is discouraging door to door trick or treating this Halloween. The South River Machar Firefighters Association and South River Lions Club will be providing a socially distanced open house for kids to pick up candy and get their pictures taken at the fire hall. If you would like to make a cash donation to help us purchase treats for the kids please drop it off at the Village of South River or the Township of Machar Municipal Office. If using the drop box please include your name and address for the receipt.

To the families of 9/11, we will never forget their sacrifice.
