Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, unfortunately our Annual Homeshow will not be occurring this Spring. The health & safety of our loyal participants, Homeshow attendees and our community at large is of the utmost importance to our membership, so we therefore look forward to hosting our next Homeshow in 2022!! Please share this if you would not mind. We wish to thank everyone for their continued support of our community efforts and please know, we are still operating with all Covi...d-19 protocols taken into consideration! If you, or someone you know, is interested in giving back to your community through a great service organization, the Sydney-Riverview Y Service Club is always looking for new members to help us in our efforts. The need for organizations like ours has never been greater and "many hands make light work", as they say!! If you would like more info on our club, and what it is that we do, please send an email to this address : [email protected] See more
Talk about years of experience!! The gentlemen you see here have a combined total of well over 100 years of service to the Y Service Club here in Cape Breton! Y's Harry Henderson, Y's Bucky Buchannan and Y's Sandy Reynold's know the importance of giving back to their community and continue to do so, year after year! A huge Thank You to each of you, for all you do!! If you have ever thought of getting involved in a service club to give a little back to the community that supports you, you know that Y Service Club International must be THE place to be! Do you happen to know any of these Y's Guys??
The last founding member of the Riverview Y's Service Club has passed on. Edison Taylor was a very strong community leader throughout his lifetime. Our sincere condolences to his entire family. https://www.sydneymemorialchapel.com/obitua/a-edison-taylor
The year 2020 has been quite a difficult one for most of us, the coronavirus pandemic did not only wreak havoc on health and sanity, but also left quite a lasting impact on most of our lives. One that will continue to affect our lives even when this whole nightmare is over. Yet, humanity is not be taken lightly either. We will continue to hold on to hope and persevere for a brighter and better tomorrow. The upcoming year has a lot of people’s hope riding on it, and the start of a new decade has never seemed more promising.
Happy Halloween everyone! Stay safe out there!
Some members got presented with their Y Service Club lapel pins at our last meeting. Y's President Kenny Jones & past Pres. David McDonald did the presentations.

We had our first meeting of the season, in person, at the club hall this week! Most members were in attendance as well. Social distancing and masks were in play. It was great to be back and we even accepted a donation from a fellow service club, the Kiwanis Golden K of Sydney. They are making use of our Y's hall for their weekly meetings and, to broadcast their TV Bingo events, as well. Now that's working together to serve our community, eh! Welcome to the Golden K!
I am sad to post that our club has lost a long standing member, and a true gentleman. Our sincere condolences go out to all his family and friends at this sad time. RIP Marcel- you will be missed by all!
