A Familiar Face Joins SSI 2019 was a good year for SSI and we expect 2020 to be even better. To accommodate our continued growth, weve expanded our staff. The newest member of the SSI team is Mike Fortenberry. Mike has joined us as a Software Consultant. Initially, he will work with Shawla Erlandson, using his extensive experience to help get new customers converted and trained. ... For those who dont already know Mike, hes an industry veteran with more than 30 years experience that includes 16 years in the software industry, 5 years of experience in dealership operations and 10 years as owner of his own office products dealership. Mikes career in office products began in 1988 when he joined DDMS as a support technician and software trainer. He began to specialize in the softwares serialized application and, when the company decided to develop a complete service module, Mike was involved from the beginning. He gathered dealer input, developed specifications, and worked with programmers to design and test the new software. Mike served as product manager for the O/M Dealer module until 1998 when he left DDMS to pursue other opportunities. He worked as a dealer consultant and spent two and one-half years as operations manager for Hoppstetters Office Products in Yuma, AZ. Mike returned to DDMS in 2002, not long after the company was acquired by ECI, and spent the next seven years training dealers and working with the serialized module. In 2007 he purchased Bakers Office Supply, an office supply, furniture and equipment dealership in Show Low, AZ and operated the business for the next decade. When the Show Low areas declining economy forced Bakers closure, Mike rejoined Hoppstetters, resuming his post as operation manager as well as taking over purchasing for the dealership. Now Mike has joined the SSI team where he will be helping our customers get up and running on SSI Edge and JOBTRAK. He is looking forward to working with other dealers again and using his software and operational experience to help them improve their businesses.

SSI has added electronic purchasing with toner supplier Liberty Laser Solutions to both our new SSI Edge graphical software and our older SSIop dealer system. US dealers will be able to check stock and place orders with Liberty Laser through Internet-based EDI, just as they currently do with Essendant, S. P. Richards, and other vendors. Purchasing features include online price and stock checks, electronic PO transmission and acknowledgments.... Liberty Laser is one of the top toner cartridge remanufacturers in the US. The company has been in business for over 20 years and operates its own in-house manufacturing facility. Its products are 100% US-made and TAA compliant. Electronic purchasing with Liberty Laser is available by request to all SSI customers in the US (Liberty Laser does not sell in Canada) at no additional charge.
