At 11 am on November 11th, 1918, the guns of the Western Front fell silent after more than four years of continuous warfare. The 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month attained a special significance in the post-war years. The allied nations chose this day and time for the commemoration of their war dead. Occupational therapists have a special relationship with veterans as the nucleus of our discipline only began to take form with World War I when emergency courses for... Please take time this Wednesday to remember our veterans who fought valiantly for our freedom, thank the soldiers who continue to stand guard for peace and security, and take a moment to appreciate the pioneering work of the many occupation aides who worked diligently to nuture and rehabilitate our injured veterans. At the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month, we remember.
