Sunday School Picnic
Sunday School and the Youth 1 Timothy 4:12- Let no one despise you for your youth, but set the believers an example in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, in purity. St. Andrew’s has been blessed with many volunteer Sunday School teachers, superintendents, clery and group leaders in its 93 year history. Many people have attended Sunday School classes and picnics, participated in Rally Day and Christmas programs, church worship services, C.G.I.T. and youth programs.
Three Elders were ordained in 2001- Mary Margaret MacLean, Melvin McInnis and Rankin MacLeod.
A wet day for our last drive-in worship service of the year, but so much to be thankful for, as Margie said in her message. Thank you Margie, Warren MacIntyre, and Sam MacLean for a beautiful Thanksgiving service. This being our last outdoor service, thank you to everyone (too many people to mention but you know who you are) who made our summer drive-in services possible. Thank you as well to all those who attended. We hope to do the same type of worshop services, next year. Most of all, thank you Lord, for allowing us to worship you in this way. Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!
St. Andrews celebrated its 75th Anniversary in 2002. Marilyn MacLeod s beautiful burning bush quilt, depicted the 1927 quilt, with names of members and friends of the church on it. We were delighted to have Rev. Lorne MacLeod, former church minister, as guest speaker for the anniversary service.
A Women's Missionary Society Meeting
Rev. Forsythes, Homer the Bear, was a very popular attraction for the Sunday School children of St. Andrews Church.
Join us at our last drive-in worship service of the year on Sunday, October 11, 2020, 11:00 am, at St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. 151 Main Street, Whycocomagh, Nova Scotia. Everyone welcome!!
St. Andrew's Women's Missionary Society
In 2000, outdoor spotlights were installed and dedicated at the church.
Beautiful day for a service along the bay! Thanks, Margie for an inspiring message and Sam MacLean and Warren MacIntyre for your gift of music.
St. Andrew’s Women’s Missionary Society (WMS), later renamed the Atlantic Missionnary Society (AMS) and opened to men and women of the congregation, has been very active throughout the history of St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church. Presently, the group no longer meets. However, many AMS Home Helpers in the congregation, continue to contribute to missions of the Presbyterian Church, through the AMS or Presbyterian Sharing.
October 2020 Dear Friends In Christ, One year ago, we were busy preparing for family and friends in celebration of a ‘Happy Thanksgiving’. One of my favourite times of the year, the beautiful colours of fall, the cool crisp air, the smell of wood fires, and of course, the ever present turkey dinner and all of the trimmings! ...Continue reading
