Residents and staff of St. Andrew’s Residence joined together today for a service honouring those who fought in wartime conflicts and those we have lost. Today’s service was made special with the support of 105-year-old resident Muriel Ritchie, who has been an active volunteer with the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary since 1954.

Halloween is a great excuse to dress up and have a little fun! If you’ve been following us on Facebook, you already know Halloween isn't the only reason we like to dress up and dance to bring joy! Wishing you and your family a safe and Happy Halloween!!

The weather could not have been better for an outdoor fall celebration! Yesterday we did just that by creating our very own fall festival featuring traditional festival games and unique sweet treats like smores, hot apple cider and cotton candy!

Yesterday, we kicked off the 1st of October in authentic Octoberfest fashion. With some Polka music, German cuisine, a bit of beer and lots of cheer!

Grandparents are an amazing gift in our lives! There is no doubt that the residents at St. Andrew’s Residence are some of the most special around. Life is better with Ice Cream! Even though it was a rainy afternoon, the residents enjoyed ice cream sundae's inside!

THANK YOU TO St. Andrew's United Church - Chatham A special thank you to the St. Andrew’s Church family, who helped make the Food Basket program such a huge success. It would have been next to impossible had it not been for the church stepping up and making space available for us to prepare the hampers for delivery. Not only good neighbours but like the Residence, they too care for the community of which we are all apart.

Chatham-Kent is really feeling the heat this summer! Today we shared some tips with our residents on how to stay cool and refreshed during the summer months. We also shared some signs and symptoms of heat related illnesses. We can all benefit from being reminded to stay out of the sun and to drink a lot of water on a hot day!

With the support of a generous donation from the Ontario Community Support Association, St. Andrew's Residence and Meals on Wheels Chatham-Kent staff and volunteers have been lovingly picking and packing food baskets for vulnerable seniors in our community. Recognizing COVID-19 still exists, the Alzheimer Society of Chatham-Kent and Meals on Wheels staff and volunteers have partnered up to deliver over 275 food baskets in efforts of keeping the seniors of Chatham-Kent safe during this time. Thank you to all of the volunteers who have helped to make this unbelievable project a reality.

Recently the staff of St. Andrew's Residence and Chatham-Kent Hospice joined efforts to collect food donations in support of Chatham Outreach For Hunger. Today we delivered this entire cart full of groceries!!! Thank you to all who contributed! Please join us in spreading the word about the May 16th Miracle and help the hungry in Chatham-Kent.

The residents and staff had so much fun last Friday with our Mexican-themed lunch and mariachi band. We decided to see what other hidden talents the staff might have.... With a Wild West themed lunch we danced our hearts out in true boot scoot boogie fashion!
