Today is Friday the 13th, the scariest date on the calendar if youre a counselor at Camp Crystal Lake, that is. If youre not running for your life, you might be wondering where the terror of todays date comes from. In the West, most superstitions come from Biblical tradition, and Friday the 13th is no exception. There were thirteen guests at the Last Supper, one of whom was Judas Iscariot, the disciple whose betrayal led to Jesus crucifixion on Good Friday.

Mabel, beloved parishioner, dedicated volunteer and founder of the Family Life Group, recently celebrated her 100th birthday. A luncheon was held in her honour at St. Barnabas Church, well-attended by family, friends, and all who appreciate the wonderful work she does. Happy Birthday, Mabel!
