First Sunday of Advent

Saturdays Advent 3 and Advent 4 we gather in silent prayer. We remember before God the 1,555,854+ deaths caused by covid-19. This Advent Compline is a traditional sung form from the Sarum tradition originating in England. Compline means Night prayers traditionally the last of the day before sleep. Chanting prayers deepens prayer in us. It also projects the prayers further into the world. Tonight two long pauses indicate space for the Apostles' Creed and Lord's Prayer to be said at home before gathered together in community.
