Today is #PinkShirtDay; the theme this year is Lift each other up, a simple but powerful message encouraging us to look beyond our differences and celebrate the things that make us unique. When we lift each other up, we see beyond the things that separate us and see instead the things that unite us as people; we can see how our differences are beautiful. #TipTuesday: Fruit juice is loaded with vitamins and antioxidants, but unfortunately most juices are also loaded with sugar. Some juices can have as much sugar per serving as soda. For example, there are only 10 more grams of sugar in orange soda than in orange juice. Fruits are naturally sweet, so look for juice that has no added sugar. You can also reduce the sugar content by diluting juice with some water. Schedule an appointment with us: dentisteorleans.ca 613-837-5297

February is #GumDiseaseAwarenessMonth. Bleeding gums can be the first warning sign that you have gum disease. The mild variety is called gingivitis that infects your gums and, if not treated, can travel below your gum line and into your bone. Then it becomes a more severe form of gum disease called periodontitis. Both gingivitis and periodontitis have been shown to raise your risk of diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis, pneumonia, and cancer. Speak to your dentist about prevention and treatment at your next appointment. Schedule an appointment with us: dentisteorleans.ca 613-837-5297
