So grateful for all of our incredible helpers.
Follow the rules, take care of yourself, and remember to (safely) look in on your elderly neighbours and others who are vulnerable. We are all in this together.
Thanks to the support of Ferrero Rocher Canada, St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre was able to gift every employee of Stedman Community Hospice and St. Joseph’s Long-Term Care home with a 48 count Ferrero deluxe chocolate tray. Pictured here is the always cheerful and helpful Marge McNeil, screener at the Hospice. Chocolates were wrapped with ribbon and a gift tag and as per our pandemic protocols were kept in isolation for 72 hours before distribution. A nice little treat for our hardworking team.
A huge thank you to the students of Brantford Christian School, a.k.a. 'grandpals' for their recent donation of 205 gift packs for our residents. After 72 hours isolation we will be distributing these to our residents. Pre-COVID 19 the students of Brantford Christian School's Grandpals Program visited St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre every month to participate in activities with our residents. Pictured here is Liz Martorano from SKIP (Seniors and Kids Intergenerational Programs) who delivered the packages to our home. Our heartfelt thanks to Brantford Christian School for all you do throughout the year to bring joy to those who live at SJLCB.
A great big thank you to Forsythe Lubrication of Hamilton for this wonderful donation of 15 cases of hand sanitizer to St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre. It will be put to great use at both St. Joseph’s Long-term Care and Stedman Community Hospice.
In memory of her mom, Gwen Ludwig, a past resident of St. Joseph’s Lifecare Centre, Dawn Sangster set out this year to ensure all 205 residents of SJLC receive a Christmas gift, with tremendous success! Through her fundraising initiative, the 3rd Annual Christmas Magic For Seniors, Dawn enlisted support from the community and the community happily responded. We are so very grateful to Dawn and to everyone who contributed to this cause. What a beautiful, generous undertaking!!! On behalf of all our residents, thank you so very much!
Have a great week!
One of the best weapons in your quiver!
Our sincerest thank you to those who fought for our freedom. Lest we forget.
Remember to take care of you.
Yesterday we wrapped up Spiritual Care Week. This week is set aside to remind staff, residents and visitors that spiritual care is an important part of self-care and caring for others, and as such, is a critical part of the programming here at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre. Pictured here is Shelley Murray, Spiritual & Supportive Care Coordinator for our Long-Term Care home next to one of our promotional displays. The display included inspirational cards and letters from members of the community for staff to personalize and present to residents. #WeAreLifecare
What the world needs right now are leaders, people who do what is right and are an example to others. Hey, that's you!
Great reasons to be kind.
A good reminder for present day. #WeAreLifecare
Because happiness is your birthright.
This week is Spiritual Care Week at St. Joseph's Lifecare Centre. This special week was kicked off with treats for residents and staff. Mmmm, cookies!
Let's all choose joy!
