St. Luke Catholic Elementary School

The grade 6/7 class has been talking about kindness during Religion. So I shared my vision and the students did an amazing job. Using crayons the students wrote Kindness quotes and them brushed them with watercolours. It turned out awesome and has stopped many students as they walk through the halls.

The grade 6/7 class is learning about the area of rectangular prisms, by creating their own ice rinks. What an awesome Canadian inquiry.

Here is our week at a glance, and February Math Moment. Please note Monday is a PD Day, there is no school for students! Art club for grade 7 and 8s will begin on Tuesday!

The grade 2s played Octopus. Students had to cross the gym without getting hit by a dodgeball. We brainstormed the crazy ways to make the students cross the gym, we had gallops, side shuffles, tippy toes, twirls and more!

Virtual activities being offered to students through the City of Kawartha Lakes Boys and Girls Club. Please share with anyone that might be interested.

Today in the NED zone when I got busy with knots, Brady and Eli took the time to replay the yoyo videos and instruct the students. Such leadership! Such awesomeness, they were kind, encouraging and super helpful.

The Nursing students Rachel and Megan presented to 4 classes today regarding healthy living choices. They presented to the grade 1,2, 3/4 and 4/5 students. The students were very attentive and loved the kahoot game at the end!

November 22, 2020 will be the Lindsay Santa Claus Parade. The route is huge! So glad Santa is not hiding from COVID.
