***Important Busing Update**** Due to the current road conditions and forecast, all Division rural buses (including Town of St. Paul) will be transporting students home starting at 1 PM today. Schools remain open until the end of the day. (January 13, 2021)
***Update on afternoon buses for January 14, 2021*** We have contacted every driver this morning and we have learned that the road conditions vary greatly for individual routes. As each individual driver is in the best position to determine if their route is safe to proceed, the decision to run this afternoon will be at their discretion. At this time we have heard from most of our drivers, and as each driver makes their decision we are: ... Updating the Division website https://www.stpauleducation.ab.ca/bussing. Sending out an Alertus message. Each driver will also call the families on their bus. Please note: Town of St. Paul in-town buses are running as usual. We have been notified that the Saddle Lake buses will not be running this afternoon.

Please note the following reminders about school bus transportation in inclement weather: In-town buses have adopted the same inclement weather process as rural routes. When the temperature and/or wind chill is -40C or colder, buses will be cancelled. Check out our infographic to learn more about how decisions are made regarding busing. https://bit.ly/2J4EpH3... In an effort to support student learning and better accommodate families, St. Paul Education may run afternoon buses during extreme cold weather under certain circumstances. https://bit.ly/2KAhrs0 If your child rides a Division bus, you can receive notifications regarding delays/cancellations by signing up for the ALERTUS App. An instructional document and video are available on our website: https://www.stpauleducation.ab.ca/transportation>Alertus App Ensure your child is dressed for the weather with appropriate footwear and outerwear, including headgear and mittens or gloves.
***Important Update for Busing on January 14, 2021*** Please be advised that due to the heavy snow conditions affecting rural routes, buses will be cancelled for tomorrow morning, January 14, 2021. This will allow time for highway maintenance and municipalities to clear the roads. At this time we plan to have buses run in the afternoon for any students who come to school during the day, however the decision to do so will depend on road conditions. This decision could vary fro...m route to route depending on local conditions. An announcement regarding afternoon busing will be posted by 11 a.m. tomorrow. Note: Town of St. Paul in-town buses will be running tomorrow morning. Please be advised that all of our schools will remain open as usual.
As we prepare to welcome our students back to in-person learning on Monday, we would like to share the following reminders with parents: Complete the Alberta Health Daily Health Checklist each day before sending your child to school. https://bit.ly/3s3POJ4... Wear a Mask The use of non-medical masks is still mandatory for students in grade 4-12 and staff. Stay Home When Sick It is important for children to stay home when they have symptoms and to contact their school principal immediately if their child has tested positive for COVID-19. This will assist schools in determining close contacts as soon as possible. If your child has travelled outside of Canada they must quarantine (isolate) for 14 days upon returning. All extracurricular sports and activities are still on hold until further notice. A shout out to our Division Technology Department! These computer whizzes are knowledgeable, skilled and always provide service with a smile! They work hard to ensure our schools have access to the technology needed for learning and are quick to solve computer issues. We would like to thank our technology team for the integral role they have played in supporting our at-home learning programs and responding to our needs during these ever changing times. #StPaulEducation #AwesomeStaff
